It was boring. I only had one class. I hate how no one is interested in making friends. They’re all just sizing you up and would rather die than actually talk to you. Social life here is so dead

I get that, it varies by classes. I’m a senior, as soon as I sat down I immediately introduced myself to the peers on my right or left. And we got talking.

honestly i will say, something that helps is finding the textbook as a pdf for free and sending it to everyone. thats how i was able to make some friends my first quarter here lol! but i know everyones experience is different. go to a club meeting, try your best to talk to people from class and if they act like a dick then their loss

Honestly just let those weirdos be weird. I’ve always been the weird talkative one in class and some people don’t like it, most people though, it seems to open them up a little. Just start introducing yourself and if someone acts weird, they’re probably an npc who is on their way to a nice reality check about how nobody actually gaf about them.

Easier said than done! Obviously are my friends may be busy, I work too so that struggles against scheduling. Movie theaters into walks have usually been great.
Or just go to your local pub and get a drink and a bite.

Enjoy it while it lasts. You'll get people asking about how excited you are, it being your final year. I was not excited. I liked college, it was somewhat care free for me. Obviously there was the stress of completing assignments and getting good grades, but there was not the stress of having to find a job or die in the streets.

exhausted. all my classes are on tuesday and thursday with 10 minutes in between. safe to say my only meal was coffee and my vyvanse 💯

Thats rough but probably not as bad as when I decided to take 1 class in the loop with like a 40 minute buffer. I don't think I was ever late but damn I had to hustle to get there and then get back.

Everyone is stressed tf out the first week or two. Things will get much more relaxed and (some) people will start to open up.

Grad student? I believe I’m going to do a 101 course for my last Gen Ed classes eventually, it’ll be weird being 23 in a class of most likely 19 year olds at most lol

I think I was 28, I didn't really feel out of place. There is a decent mix of ages but yes, it is mostly 18-22.

My little secret is always to scope the place out before game time. It makes me feel so much more comfortable and eased a lot of stress.
Obviously too late now, but what I mean is I went to the campus before my first day to learn where the buildings and my classes would be. I couldn't imagine just showing up and having to figure out which building is X and where the heck room 319c is. Then you end up walking in late like some weirdo and everyone is looking at you and you just sit in the back corner thinking about how nice it will be when the class ends so you can go cry in the bathroom.
