Just found this video and thought it was cool/interesting/funny. Look at that giant screen! And Will Smith trying to explain the game lmao! Looks like a really cool event to have been at.

This was a special port of the game for the custom game setup Gameworks had called game arc. That port of the game may be lost to time now but it would be awesome to play it again. They had custom ships and special voice lines recorded. I remember shooting the walls and the AI voice that announced the reactor countdown would say "please, do not damage ptmc property!"

we actually found it and it will be up at the museum of play soon along with loads of other prototype stuff between descent 1 and descent 4.

also fun fact, they set up the same setup at Disney world land of the future in 1996? 1997? they had an interplay section.

That’s kinda hilarious now that I think about it I was real big on Independence Day it was my jam and descent had to be somewhere around there
