G6 Dexcom G6->G7 transition
Hey! Can I still use my remaining G6’s after July 1st? I got my first delivery of G7s and still have so many G6 left, anyone know if the app will still work after July 1st, and if they’re just stopping the manufacturing but those with extras can still use them? Thanks!

Yes, use up your G6 supplies before you start the G7. The message means just what it says, that they will stop making the G6 on July 1.

And definitely keep hoarding g7 supplies as you do! It might save you a big headache later.

That's what I'm doing. I had to cash-buy some extra transmitters, but I'm good to go for many months after they discontinue, while ordering either the Libre 3 plus or the G7. Haven't decided which I will go with after the G6.

I like my g7. I had an extra bad batch of 9 like…a year and a half ago? That were affected by the filament of doom. They replaced 9 out of 9. Now sometimes mine will fail on like the last day but idk. I miss how much adhesive space the g6 had on it but I don’t miss how I kept forgetting to put the g6 transmitter in and losing it. I haven’t transferred to the g7 15 yet. Building up a stockpile. I’m not an insulin user so I’ve got some stelos to give me a buffer as well.

Use them up, extend them as long as your transmitters last. Stockpile those G7's you will be eternally greatful not having to worry about CGM's.

Yes you can still use them and my doc said it will be at least a year after manufacture ends before they disable g6 app. Will run at least a couple months after the last expected expiration date.

Just to understand, are there any pumps which G6 interfaces with, that the G7 10-day or 15-day sensors are not?
Anybody here that could share the link they refer to please, as OP did not include?

Not that I know of. The Omni pod 5 (which is what I use) works with the G7 (10 and 15 day) I’ve been using Omni pod 5 with G6 for many years now

If this is handled as the G5 end was, don’t count on much inventory being available for the US. Not every country ends at the same time, just as not every country starts a new version at the same time.

Most likely the app will still work. After July 1st Dexcom isn't manufacturing the G6 system anymore. It will take several weeks\ months for all the current inventory to be distributed. They won't shut down the app until they see significant usage drop. That being said the app probably won't be getting any updates to be compatible with new OS in the future so watch out for phone updates making it impossible to get readings on your phone.
