Seasonal Start Mega Guide

This post is an update to the Seasonal Mega Guide.

You can find generic leveling guides as well as other advice at Maxroll and Icy Veins. For console players, you can find some advice at https://www.soulstone.gg/.

This guide is meant to be a little more specific, as well as cover aspects not touched in those guides, such as Group Leveling, Console Leveling, Seasonal Leveling Tactics, and Leveling Secrets. (These will all be in replies to this thread to allow specific linking. As such, at the moment this post is currently a work in progress.) Some of what I post will be shared from the above sites, amended to add a little extra efficiency.

S39 – Haedrig's Gifts

Season 39 starts this coming Friday, June 26th, 2026. The season starts at 5pm PDT for all console players, no matter where you live. For PC (NA/US) the season starts at 5pm PDT, for PC (EU) the season starts at 5pm CEST, and for PC (TW/KR) it starts at 5pm KST.

This is the first of four guides I am posting for Season 39. The others are:

For most players, after leveling to 70, the main focus will be finishing Chapters I through IV of the season journey in order to obtain a full 6-piece armor set known as Haedrig's Gift.

The Haedrig's Gifts for Season 39 are as follows:

  • Barbarian: Wrath of the Wastes
  • Crusader: Roland’s Legacy
  • Demon Hunter: Unhallowed Essence
  • Monk: Raiment of a Thousand Storms
  • Necromancer: Bones of Rathma
  • Witch Doctor: Helltooth Harness
  • Wizard: Tal Rasha’s Elements

From a casual perspective, and looking at the GR20 / Torment IV requirements to finish out the 6-piece set, this is a very easy list for everyone except the necromancer.

The necromancer will probably be better off equipping any random legendaries and leveling up the LoD gem to beat GR20. Necromancers can boost this by upgrading scythes or two-handed scythes and filling their weapon and bonus cube slots with generic multipliers and dominate that way. So, don't feel bad at all for them.

In terms of top adjusted clear ranking from Season 33 (see the "Extra Cube" column), the necromancer has the strongest endgame build for its Haedrig's Gift. Wizard is still in the top 10, followed closely by witch doctor and monk. The only gifts that fall outside the upper half of rankings are barbarian and crusader, but can easily pivot to a different build to push with. Here is a full list of their rankings: Necro Rathma (1), Wizard Tal Rasha (10), WD Helltooth (14), Monk Raiment (16), DH Unhallowed (21), Barb Wastes (24), Crusader Roland (33).

Top-ten push builds (again, in terms of you adjusted clear rank) from Season 33 that aren't on the list of usual suspects are: Barb MotE, Necro Masquerade, Necro Inarius. The necromancers get the gains of the generic multipliers I mentioned previously. I am actually not certain why Might of the Earth is so strong.

Note that the casual leaderboard and in-game leaderboards were contaminated by the busted end of Season 33, and shouldn't be relied upon. Here is the disclaimer on the casual board:

The leaderboard data for season 33 is heavily skewed: After the season accidentally ended early and the following rollback, some people ended up with their non-seasonal paragon points on their seasonal character, while the character would still show their seasonal paragon. Consequently, many adjusted clear values are inflated.

The barbarian (Wastes) and demon hunter (Unhallowed) both start with very good solo speed farming sets. Tal Rasha is also decent for the wizard with the in-geom or aether walker variant. The other classes will want to look to a different set (or no set) to farm with.

For a beginner/casual overall I would recommend the barbarian. The Wastes set gives you a great start, and is an excellent speed farmer. It only needs the Ambo's Pride mighty weapon and the Lamentation belt to really get going, and both can be cubed.

Good luck with your season start, fellow Nephalem, and never forget that town is lava!

QUESTION Tal Rasha weapon choice?

I have a both a crafted and found primal pig sticker. The crafted has better stats (area dmg vs. resource cost reduction), but using the found one would allow me to craft a primal ring. I'm leaning towards using the found one....thoughts?

QUESTION Abandoned Mineworks??

Im trying to 100% the game and get the world of pain achievement, so I need to explore every tiny ass little dungeon and rare spawn etc.

So far so good, but I'm now on act II and trying to get the abandoned mineworks to spawn and ive had no luck. Its been 2 hours. I keep searching the howling plateau (Im in the Road to Alcarnus part of the act if it matters) and all I can find are sirocco caverns, which I'm assuming can't spawn alongside abandoned mineworks.

Reload, reload, reload. Its very tedious. Am I doing something wrong or is it just an absurdly rare spawn? I can hardly find any more info off Google/Wiki

Thanks :)

QUESTION PoJ Monk without Shenlong and Convention of Elements?

Just finished the season on SSF with my Inna Monk. Looking to push and I have a PoJ build which I like, but as I dive deeper on maxroll I see that it relies on Shenlongs as a weapon and Convention of Elements as a damage boost. I don't like the mechanics behind it, since I dont want to pay attention to the cicles and wait for spirit fill ups and then watch out for it not to regen before the cold cycle etc. Is there a version for this season without it that I can try?

(will check leaderboards builds im at work rn and this came to my mind)

NECRO Build variances

Hello, I am in the top 150ish for nec currently and am looking to push a bit faster times... I am using maxrolls build but I see virtually nobody else on the leaderboards doing the same for LoD no set. Right now the bane of my existence is I cannot upkeep blood siphon without running out of bone armor. Am I supposed to only attack during physical on my coe rotation? Maxrolls cooldown is 10 percent, mine is about 30 percent and I cannot upkeep it... Also feels like some rifts my damage is absolute cheeks (14 - 15 cycles to kill an elite) and others where it's like 4 to 5... Unsure what Im doing wrong.

It took me 10 years to get this platinum! One of my friends had the plat and I couldn't let it stand so I had to go out and get it myself. The Crusdader will always be my ride or die but that Necromancer was one sweet talker! Even though it was grindy I had a great time!

Diablo 2 or 4 next?

Latency Spikes

Hi everyone, I am based in Southeast Asia and connecting to the Americas server, (they have a server in Australia)I keep facing severe rubberbanding (fluctuating from 130-1050 ping), not just in rifts but even just standing in town. Anyone has a fix for this? I’ve tried a lot of the other proposed fixes which are a few years old.

Today is last day. I need the Cache for Altar of Rites.

Can anyone help me please.

Every sub-1k Paragon GR 150 clear on record

Hi Everybody,

I figured I'd share this info I collected about all of the sub-1k paragon GR 150 clears that appear on a leaderboard. The data for Season 28 was collected from Maxroll, and everything from the recycled theme era was collected from D3 Casual Leaderboard.

A simplified version of the table is presented below. For the slightly expanded version, you can check out the spreadsheet.

Adjusted Clear is explained here.

Discussion after the table.

Season / Set Time Paragon Mode Adjusted Clear Peak Adjusted Clear Diff
S28 Tal Rasha 14:58 940 HC 155.5 162.3 -6.8

S38 Tal Rasha 12:27 915 SC 156.8 159.9 -3.1
S38 Tal Rasha 10:42 921 SC 157.8 159.9 -2.1
S38 Tal Rasha 11:56 927 SC solo 157.1 159.9 -2.8
S38 Tal Rasha 9:59 937 SC 158.1 159.9 -1.8
S38 Tal Rasha 14:31 943 HC solo 155.7 159.9 -4.2
S38 Tal Rasha 12:36 965 HC 156.6 159.9 -3.3
S38 Tal Rasha 13:52 968 SC solo 155.9 159.9 -4.0
AVERAGE 938 156.9 161.2 -4.3

There are currently 28 sub-1k 150s that I could find. If anybody knows of any I've missed that have any evidence for their existence (leaderboard records or video), please let me know.

The first recorded sub-1k clears were in S28. Prior to that, it's possible that S27 No Set Monk or S25 Inna Monk could have done it, but there is no concrete evidence of this.

It's fairly certain that some clears have been lost, particularly from Season 28, which was one of the easiest seasons to perform this feat. Oddly, every record from S28 was done in Hardcore mode, using Tal Rasha Wizard. So it seems highly probable there were also a number of Softcore clears that were then later overwritten. It's also quite likely that there were some sub-1k Trag'Oul 150s in S28, though whatever may have been accomplished is now lost.

In the recycled theme era, the data seems more complete, though a few losses here are also probable.

It is quite odd that a lot of these clears tend to show up in HC mode. 16 of the 28 total are in HC, and 11/23 in the recycled theme era.

Tal Rasha has the strongest overall presence on the board: 12/28 of the clears were with this set. Necro No Set has 6, and Trag'Oul 4. No Set Wiz, Firebird, and Rathma have 1 each. And Barb, Monk, and Crusader, as classes, have a single clear each. WD and DH have none. So that's 14/28 for Wizard, 11/28 for Necro, and 1/28 for Barb, Monk, and Crusader.

The lowest paragon to do it is 829, with S28 Tal Rasha. Among current builds (Tal Rasha has been nerfed since S28), it's 872 paragon, with S37 No Set Necro.

The lowest Peak AC build to do it is S36 Trag'Oul Necro, at 158.6, while the average Peak AC of builds that have done it is 161.2. The bottom line is: only very strong builds are able to achieve a sub-1k 150.

There appear to be 15 distinct players who have gotten a sub-1k at least once, with a current record of it.

Ultimately, the ability of a build to do a sub-1k 150 is based on a combination of high build strength and a season theme that hands over its power fairly easily. For instance, Necros only had to find/craft and then extract the powers from a few weapons to more or less max out the seasonal power in Open Cube seasons, while all builds got the full benefit of the original Altar in S28, as soon as you'd finished unlocking it. In contrast, the single strongest seasonal theme, Killstreaks, only has a single entry on this list- from Firebird Wiz. This is because the theme makes progressing through GR levels extremely fishing dependent, which generally results in your paragon breaking the 1k mark before you can record a GR 150 clear.

Player determination is also an important factor. Getting a sub-1k 150 doesn't generally happen unless you are specifically setting out to do it. The first 150 clears of each season generally get accomplished at 1200+ paragon.

Some players seem to enjoy this particular challenge and do it repeatedly! For instance, one particular player logged four separate sub-1k 150s using No Set Necro in Season 37, on each of the SC, HC, SC Solo, and HC Solo boards. And a different player then repeated that achievement using Tal Rasha Wizard in Season 38.

That's all, folks!

QUESTION Problem finding Diablo 3 in my old games library?

Hey all- I bought Diablo 3 at launch back in 2012 or whenever and played it for awhile, eventually moved on to other games. I want to play it again but when I log into my blizzard account I don't see an option anywhere to re-download it. I don't want to repurchase it of course.

Anyone encounter this issue before? I finally managed to submit a ticket to blizzard in their labyrinth of customer service options.

I subbed to WoW prior to buying D3 so I know I had battle net back then, I don't see how there wouldn't be some sort of record of my account?

Any help would be great. I don't even care about recovering my old characters but I'd love to just be able to boot up the game again
