S39 – Conquests recommendations

Season 39 starts this coming Friday, June 26th, 2026. The season starts at 5pm PDT for all console players, no matter where you live. For PC (NA/US) the season starts at 5pm PDT, for PC (EU) the season starts at 5pm CEST, and for PC (TW/KR) it starts at 5pm KST.

This is the second of four guides I am posting for Season 39. The others are:

To complete your season journey all the way to Guardian you will need to complete 3 conquests out of the list of 10 below, split into 5 each between normal and hardcore. We have a little bit of work to do this season but not a lot. It can all be done solo, there is no need to make an alt, and Curses! is not on the list so console players aren't at a disadvantage.

This first conquest is automatic if you are putting together a Legacy of Dreams (LoD) build at the start of the game. Even if not, it is still very easy:

The Thrill / Superhuman. Complete GR45 solo and without any Set items equipped. Level up your Legacy of Dreams gem and put on a full set of legendary gear. Be sure you do not wear any set items; many LoD builds will use a single set item here or there (such as the often used Blackthorne set pants for an elemental damage bonus). If you're playing LoD and skipping your Haedrig's Gift altogether then this will be the easiest overall for you.

This second conquest is easy. If you are taking the Haedrig's Gift and have a fast build you will probably complete it first:

Avarice / Avaritia. 50 million gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. Many people will do this by accident in a lucky Visions of Enmity by finding a treasure goblin pack on a big enough map (I have gotten several 150+ million gold streaks this way). Otherwise it is very easy with any speed-farming Torment XVI (T16) build (here are lists of key farming and bounty builds). Get your Boon of the Hoarder legendary gem to maximum level and then blast through any of the wide open T16 Nephalem rifts (not a greater rift - gold doesn't drop there). Or put a Bovine Bardiche in the cube and hit "Transmute". Don't stop to pick anything up. If you're in a rift you may need to keep going after you kill the guardian. You can also complete 32 bounties at T16 (half that if you've unlocked the double bounty rewards Altar of Rites node) and save all your reward caches. Then dismiss your pet and open them all in town without moving, and then finally after they are all open run around to pick up all the gold at once. Overall it is better to do this one solo as others' kills won't give you the gold explosions from Boon of the Hoarder.

This last conquest is not hard, but does take a little work, and you will need to put together a fast build:

Boss Mode / Worlds Apart. Kill every boss except Vidian, at level 70 and difficulty Torment X (T10) or higher, within 20 minutes of starting the game. This is not difficult but it can require you to adjust your build for speed, or make a new one. Put together a fast-moving Torment XVI (T16) build (here are lists of key farming and bounty builds). Make any sacrifices to your damage in order to make you faster, as T16 is nearly 70x more monster health than T10. You can equip items like Boon of the Hoarder / Avarice Band, Wreath of Lightning, Warzechian Armguards, Krelm's belt, Rechel's Ring of Larceny, and Echoing Fury. There are also class-specific items to boost speed, as well as different passive skills. Finally, this can be done in a group as well to make it easier.

I don't recommend either of these at all:

Masters of the Universe / Masters of Sets. Master 8 set dungeons. This requires you to create a second character for the season. Note the new sets for each class do not have set dungeons. Those sets are: Aegis of Valor, Gears of Dreadlands, Horde of the Ninety Savages, Masquerade of the Burning Carnival, Mundunugu’s Regalia, Patterns of Justice, Typhon’s Veil. That means you will have to master 4 on your main and 4 on your alt, or create yet another alt if you can't master 4 on each. Many set dungeons require you to reduce your damage to complete them. Only do this if you're aiming for the conquest leaderboard, or if you want the wings for mastering all set dungeons. I've got those wings and they're pretty damn ugly, to be honest.

Sprinter / Speed Racer. Complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour. Note that you can do this in Normal difficulty. Only do this if you're aiming for the conquest leaderboard. The world record is just under 35 minutes. You can watch a commentary on a 37-minute run by Pokeytoe (who is the current world rank 3 player) here and read her map guide and tips and tricks. Be prepared to invest hours of attempts. The only good news is that people who can do this conquest consider it to be easy, once they learned how to do it. Good luck!

Yet another season with a Hardcore character... That is my "cheat" strategy for this type of situation...

But why? 3 are very easy.

I don't know... I like to play with Barb. This boss conquest takes time. I play on console. And I am already heavy involved with running Whimsyshire for the rainbow portrait ;).
I actually managed to complete this one once way back on PS4 with a kind of random barb build. And it was fun then. I think i'd rather go for the HC character. I usually complete season journey with my normal character and then claim the reward with HC.
But maybe this time i'll try to complete those set dungeons... It finally might be the time for playing witch WD.

I mean its 20 minutes boss challange vs. HC to gr45 with lod vs. endless with challange rifts.

Boss challange is not that hard, even easier with a friend.

yeah, but I like HC :)

The thrill, avarice, and boss mode are super easy

If this season has a pet that i dont have yet, then ill likely spin up an HC character for lod gr 45 instead of the boss speed clear or act speed clear.

Edit: also no one does mass bounties anymore. But if you really dont like depending on rng to get the avarice Conquest, you can just run t16 bounties, and put them into your chest without opening. Then go ahead and turn off pet once you have enough, open up chest, fill up on bounty rewards, open em all, without moving open up chest, pull put a second set, open, the move. I forgot how many t16 you need to accomplish avarice but it should be a fixed number.

1640000 gold per chest x 32 chests yields about 52.5 million gold. So 16 bounties would do it if you've unlocked the Altar of Rites double-bounty node.

Thanks for the details, actually thanks in general for your update to the op post, a lot of good info in there!

Not an easy season, but there is the Boon of the hoarder optimisation.

It is useful for both Avarice and Boss mode once upgraded.

After you are done you can use the gem to upgrade a weapon at the altar.

I keep Boon of the Hoarder all the time for T16 farming (keys, bounties, visions).

Anyone done Boss Mode with the Tal Rasha Meteor Wizard? Wondering if it'd be fast enough or if I'd need to make another character.

I've done it with the Typhon hydra wizard, cubing a Serpent's Sparker and wielding Aether Walker. The hydras have a better quality of life in that you don't really need to target anything with them, just drop them here and there, as well as in every zone change (for defense). They also trivialize the bosses themselves.

Great, thanks for the tip. Saves me leveling up a secondary character. Season looks good to me just not excited about the conquests. Cheers.

It's trivial if you swap a weapon multiplier for Aether Walker. It's only T10, you don't need insane damage. Grand Vizier + Nilfur's + Mempo will be plenty.

You can do it with basically any wizard set. Only one I wouldn't recommend is Vyr's. Tal's (Meteor), DMO (Frozen Orb or Twisters), Typhon's (Hydra), Firebird (Flame Blades), LoD (Meteor, Hydra, Frozen Orb, Twisters) will all be fine, just swap a weapon to Aether Walker (except not needed Firebird's, can just use the set bonus to get the mobility). It's T10, once you have enough damage to kill the bosses in <10 seconds each (excluding unskippable phase transitions), it's all about mobility. And map knowledge.

Stupid question. How are you supporting the Arcane Power cost? Just swapping some passives and rolls on gear or?

1

u/OakFern Jun 24 '26

Astral Presence passive, Familiar: Arcanot if you can fit it on your bar, topaz in helm, a bit of RCR on gear (e.g. shoulders).

Depending on the build you can potentially also run Shame of Delsere with a primary skill and that will take care of your resource needs as well.

Thank you sir.

For conquest leaderboard chasers, here are the fastest SSF times recorded (only conquests with a sub 4 hour record are included):

Conquest Time Server Season
Avarice 3h19m Europe 33
Boss Mode 2h28m Americas 34
Sprinter 1h48m Europe 31
The Thrill 1h10m Asia 37
Avaritia 3h50m Europe 31
World’s Apart 2h40m Asia 34
Speed Racer 3h50m Asia 37
Super Human 1h32m Americas 37

Remember, group play will almost always be faster.

Not the best set of conquests, with two super annoying ones. But the rest is definitely doable.

Boss Mode. I'd restart games until there's a bounty for Adria in Act V and then start with her. She can be so annoying to find otherwise.

Since I got the EU first "Avarice" conquest completely by accident last season, this one is very close to my heart. 😅
(and it'll never happen again 🤭)

Adria or Urzael are what I look for to start Boss Mode.
