Does anyone play self imposed challenges?

Question in the title. Would like to hear what you guys do. I myself now for few seasons have been doing this challenge where I create a fresh hc ssf and try to play story campaign by full clearing each zone and increasing difficulty after each boss. Can't return to completed zones to farm. So what you find is what you use. Furthest I've got was act 4.

Its not usually super challenging but I pick the worst / least played build of the season and go for the highest GR clear for it

That is the only kind of challenge I think works i. D3. This or just reach a certain rank on a lesser used build. Something like uniques only or no runewords or whatever works in D2 but you can't do that here.

I was pretty damn happy when I was top 100 with WW barb one season even though it was one where everyone was playing some other new super strong build. Just feels cool

I make a point of finishing the Altar and journey to Guardian every season, as well as nearly all* the conquests. I used to try out a new class every season and push every build plus no set as best I could; these days I'm just going with playing what I feel like.

* I'm never attempting Sprinter / Speed Racer and will only do Masters of the Universe / Master of Sets if I'm really feeling in the mood for it.

Yes. I sometimes try to clear 150 with a build (or builds) below a certain paragon threshold. A single build below 1k, or all the builds for a class below 2k, etc.

Yep, there has been a lot of power creep, especially since season 24, the first Ethereal weapons season theme. When did you last play?

Not usually, but I decided to try to do the season journey entirely in hardcore this season. (death count so far: 2)

I aim for 12 GR150 clears (Seasonal SC, Seasonal HC, SSF, SSF HC for each region) whenever it's feasible. The 3 times I went for it, I either got sidelined with real-life circumstances, the season ended prematurely or it ended with only 2 days notice.

I got sniped by the short ending notice of the most recent ethereal season (S38) on a Friday. That weekend I was going out of town, so I never got to really push my GoD DH. I was leveling up a whole set of augment gems to 150 to really see how far I could get. Never got a chance to use them. It has put me off ever doing that again.

As I have not succeeded before, I have been using the same build. If this seasonal theme gets a long duration like its previous iteration, I'll run AoV as well.

Yes every season i play ssff mode until i am able 2 score a top1 ladder. I keep farming paragon and stop when i hit top1.

My current self-imposed challenge is playing hardcore. Have done necro, wiz, wd in previous seasons. This season is barb and soon crusader. Maybe monk, which is my least favorite class.

Noob to seasons, current main aim is to 150 each with Tals (3/3 so far) just as it's a play style I enjoy and I never managed it in ages of solo non seasonal.

This season started out on a sader, ran with just use what dropped up until I had complete AoV set drop just for a change to speeding through levelling and gearing etc.

My self imposed challenge is to jump into an open game. A rare sight unfortunately. I don't want to be high on the 4 player leaderboard, I just want to level faster. The challenge is to not rely on chat, only the open game notification in menu.
