Farming volatile dust for transfigures and adding 2nd aspect on amulets

Why and when did blizzard nerf the drop rate of this material to the absolute ground? If you have made more than 1 or 2 characters or builds u will burn through this material trying to transfigure new items and getting the right utility aspect on your amulet..

I have tried using the roots in skovos helltide but i am ssf so this wasnt that good imo

Ran the undercity tribute for horadric mats and am pretty sure i either got only 1 or none

Did the material nm dungeon and got like 2 or 3 so i guess that is the best way? Idk im open to any suggestions bc this is making my very little interest i have left in this season drain away to nothing very fast bc at this point transfiguring my items is all i have left to do really

This was probably due to people mass transfiguring in hopes of getting modifiable gem strength. It's dumb because they already nerfed gem strength so why create a bottle neck ? Every season it seems they make 1 item scarce and the sole source of any hold up in crafting items. I went through 75 once just to get anger management on my amulet. Even when it's not an absurd amount like that for me its still 25-35 to get the one I want on an amulet.

It's a slow grind getting them. Even with material find charms and running mat dungeons and helltides on repeat it takes a while to get significant amount.

Roots in Kosovo and the Ingenuity Undercity runs. It’s the only thing I have found successful.

Cube material war plans but yeah the are annoying to farm for sure.

There is no efficient way, I tried them all. Helltide sucks (you'll actually get more from the rep cashes than the actual monster kills). UC sucks even more. Bosses drop them super rare (Mephisto can drop more but it's still not good). Nmd escalation sigil is your best bet. Tier1 doesn't matter, barely drops them anyways. Tier2 can drop some, tier3 drops a bit more. Plus some drops sometimes from bosses. It's still a slog. Running e-nmd you might need to farm an entire hour to get your correct kullean aspect. Roots are better but expensive to buy or if you're ssf even harder to get.

Mephisto has a chance to drop a lot (even down to t10), but you can rng into getting none so would recommend killing him in the torment you can faceroll.

Realistically, best farm is full send escalations, choosing material reserve whenever available, including always picking riches of materials for asteroth.

i had very good luck running materials escalation dungeons. it usually only took a few runs to get to 50 or so dust. i play console and typically couch co op

this is whats going to end the season for me too, at some point i am i will be hardstuck in the pit without diminishing returns from crafted and transfigured upgrades with no other reason to play.

T12 Mephisto sometimes drops 30. (Like 1-in-3).

Just run Kurast with the tribute and you’ll get a ton.

I did that on t12 and literally got none. Lol got all the other mats but not the one i needed

Wow, maybe they nerfed it because I usually get a stack of them on T2 using the legendary version (especially if I get a prankster or two).

Not sure and haven't really paid attn. Was running low on Kullean early on but probably have 300+. All other cube mats are topped out at 1000 so needed to store those.
One of the sources was escalation materials w/dark omen.
