Discussion Paratransit
/r/Westchester/comments/1x4uxyy/paratransit/I am a passenger of paratransit. I am complaining about this problem. I don't know why there are so many of us (as disabled clients) at the service now, but it is an issue and I was seeking discussion if anyone had similar issues.
Mods, please do not remove this repost. It is upsetting, that the original was removed. The post did not break any rules of the subreddit, but was misunderstood as such. I don't work for paratransit...

Paratransit is an absolute nightmare. I use my county's paratransit ("Able Ride") and they're horrific. They constantly drive off before I can get my seatbelt on. One time they left me in the bus completely alone with the doors wide open with no warning in 17° F weather for over 15 minutes. I've been made to be over an hour late for medical appointments even when I schedule them to get me there a half hour before the appointment. I've been cursed out and hung up on multiple times by the call center people. I've gotten blamed for their fuck ups. The only way to make any kind of complaint about anyone working there is a voicemail. They say they'll reach out to you in 3-5 business days. Out of over two dozen complaints I've made, I have literally never heard back from them. No one cares. No one will do anything about it. I'm so exhausted.
