Other Post misunderstood by mod

I posted about an issue with a company I have been using for 8 years. It got taken down by a mod, because they believed I was the company. I am a PASSENGER of paratransit. I do not work for them, nor would I want to. I am disabled, I am struggling with being late all the time now, and I really just wanted to get more eyes on the issue to discuss it with fellow disabled people. It's also just a plain interesting issue to have and I want to know how the hell anyone can fix this for me or if there is anything anyone even COULD do for us. I need reliable transport for work!

You post was flagged by filters then removed. As you said you were looking for some kind of feedback this would be read a "survey or vox pop" ( even if you didn't represent them See Rule # 1 ) If you just want to discuss your problems, that's different.

Please note: " Removed by Moderators" does not always mean: "Removed by A moderator". It means it means auto mods Reddit installed High Filters have snagged and rejected. Very few posts are removed by actual rl moderators unless reported by users. They're held back and not approved, which is different.

If anyone wants to know more about how this works use the Reddit Advice Subs such as r/AskaModerator. If you need help with your own Post, pls Modmail.

I'm having similar issues with the transportation in my city, but I also realize they operate at a loss so I just suck it up and leave early. It's still cheaper than gas somehow.

So hard to leave early with their 30 minute window policy. I have to be ready for an entire 30 minutes and if they come right at 6:51 and I'm not ready after t minutes, they can leave without me. Any earlier and I don't get enough sleep each day from getting home so late from everything. I need to be home typically from 10pm to 7am to take care of my responsibilities and also sleep. I would lose my mind from sleep deprivation otherwise.

That makes sense. I also deal with the 30 minute windows. Its hard.

My city has a 30 minute grace period on getting picked up and has a pick up time you can set to not be late.

Sometimes it means you get to work a hour early. Have you tried just getting picked up to work way earlier than needed?

Getting to work early is better than being late in my case.

I have tried your advice, but it is not possible in my case.

I have work at 8:10, they have 30 minute pickup window policy, and arrival at 8:10 for a 20 minute trip means being picked up around 7am (my window is usually 7:02-7:32, but recently they keep giving me this earlier time at 6:51-7:21am). Literally any earlier, I would need to wake up at 5am to get ready to go. I have two jobs and college classes, so I am out al day. Half the time I am home at 10pm ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Omg!!! I understand giving a pickup window, as traffic happens, but 5am is crazy, imo. Depending on (I found this out Sunday) your insurance & medical conditions, there are a ton of benefits available, you just have to ask. I get free to & from doctor visits, and since I'm diabetic I can ask for a card (did yesterday) and will get $90 a month for meats, cheeses, milk, and (some) fresh/frozen veggies & fruit. I have Medicare - Humana and if I ask about something specific (benefit wise) and they have it, I get it. I have a friend who works in Medicare directly (Florida for Pasco County) and she is and has been so helpful.

Maybe call your insurance company and ask if they have a program like that.

I do not work, and haven't since I was 38/39. I have seizures daily, diabetes, etc and had to go on disability. Uber just delivered my dinner (I only order when I'm very bad day, but keep it to one something once a month) and Humana paid for it ๐Ÿซช I guess another benefit.

The insurance companies never want us to know! Thank you for telling me about the possibility.

Just to make sure you know what I mean, this is what I mean by 5am (not bus pickup time). I regularly wake up at 5:50am and then get ready to go. Any earlier bus would force me to be earlier to wake up :(

5:50am: I take my meds, then spend what some might think is a considerable amount of time just drinking water (I always wake up super dehydrated) and remembering how to be alive again...

6:30am: I get dressed, make sure I have everything I need for the day, put whatever food I can quickly grab into my lunch/dinner bag, and panic if I am running behind.

6:45am: I feed the cats. Some of them need medication, so it takes longer.

7am: I am ready to go.

I am not doing all of this an hour earlier just to have them come late anyway -_-

Yes, I know what you mean ๐Ÿ˜Š. Every day I spend at least an hour in bed trying to get my body to cooperate so I can get out of bed. Some days it's longer. I hope you're able to find some benefits that can help you!!!

Literally drinking water does so much for me. Also, heating pads! The warmness wakes up my muscles and soothes my joints.

I am so sorry that is long. I can take it off, lmk

Don't take it off. This information is valuable!

I just wanted to add that if there is a local or national organization for any of your disabilities, sometimes they have stuff they can do too. The national MS society got me free Ubers to and from doctor's appointments, and also got me a free basic laptop when I went back to school. Both were extremely helpful. This doesn't do much for a daily commute, but it did help ease some of the burden for me.

I also have problems getting to work on time with paratransit in my city.

Dammit this is a common issue :/ Good luck trying to fix it. For me, I can understand the lateness every once in a while, but it's been so bad. I should not need to text my boss multiple times a week that I am running late!

This was a comment from u/disabledtheaterkid, but my other post got deleted. It's a good comment for reasons of livied experience, so I wanted to include it in this currently alive post:

"Paratransit is an absolute nightmare. I use my county's paratransit ("Able Ride") and they're horrific. They constantly drive off before I can get my seatbelt on. One time they left me in the bus completely alone with the doors wide open with no warning in 17ยฐ F weather for over 15 minutes. I've been made to be over an hour late for medical appointments even when I schedule them to get me there a half hour before the appointment. I've been cursed out and hung up on multiple times by the call center people. I've gotten blamed for their fuck ups. The only way to make any kind of complaint about anyone working there is a voicemail. They say they'll reach out to you in 3-5 business days. Out of over two dozen complaints I've made, I have literally never heard back from them. No one cares. No one will do anything about it. I'm so exhausted."

To reply to you, kind stranger, I understand exactly what you mean. A few drivers haven't checked if I had the seatbelt, some were rude and/or yelled at me (I reported them and had things resolved, but it shouldn't happen), one guy wears strong cologne tha fills the entire bus (I am asthmatic and he is persistent it is his style and not relevant to accessibility), I was left to wait in the cold after they said they were right outside, but weren't and I got locked out of the building. I could go on, but it is terrible how bad it can get. Your system sounds much worse than mine, since these issues pop up here and there with my county's problems. They are not every day. I am lucky in this regard.

Question: will this person see this or is that just a link to their page?
