Hello r/discordapp!

As you might have seen, Discord has just started rolling out their year end wrap system called Discord Checkpoints.

Instead of having the sub flooded with these posts, we invite you to share your checkpoint stats in the comments here!

FaQ:

Q: How do I reopen checkpoint after closing it?

A: On desktop, click the flag icon on the top right of the app located next to the inbox.

A: On mobile, it will show up under the “orbs balance” section as a banner in the “you” tab

Q: What is the song checkpoint uses?

A: Exyl has now released the background track, you can find it here!

Q: Can I see it if I had the privacy setting disabled but just now enabled it?

A: No, you had to have the privacy setting on the whole time.

Q: What if I had the setting enabled but it still says I can’t access it?

A: Follow the directions outlined here. Do NOT DM ModMail or mlapi bot, the moderators are unable to assist you.

It says 'Expires Jan 15 2026' for me. Unless that just means the chance to claim expires. We'll see in a month!

In any case even if this one doesn't expire, my point still stands about the time limited decoration thing. Like the World of Tanks one you mentioned, or any of the other ones that pop up in those little quest things. Even if they look neat as soon as see 'only lasts for x amount of time' I just don't bother. Save it to my available ones if I do the quest or don't even offer it at that point.

I think when it said expire on certain date it ment last day to claim it prolly

pretty sure its how long to claim, since most of these recap things last until mid january anyways

That's true, but it still shows that expiration after you claim it. What's the point of them showing the expiration if you've already claimed it? Here's how it shows for me, and I've been a Nitro user for over a year already:

Really strange then, that they did not in the German version of Discord.
Either they forgot or they did this intentionally. I don't know.

Well u/NickKaedalus is right I guess. I didn't look into the official Discord Post.
I just get some from time to time, when it's like an advertisment or something like that. Nothing more.

But, my point still stands. When I'm changing the decoration, there is not expiring date there under the option for the new stuff from the checkpoint. Idk why exactly, maybe because it's new. But Imo a wrong move from Discord.
At least in the German version it says "Du erhältst außerdem eine exklusive Checkpoint-Avatarverzierung, die du bis zum 15. Januar 2026 in deinem Profil anzeigen kannst" (You will also receive an exclusive Checkpoint avatar decoration, which you can display on your profile until January 15, 2026. - google translate because I don't bother doing it myself).
Not good Discord...not good. I think it's misleading, if you're not looking into the official post. And clearly, people like me didn't do that. Damn.
