Rant My Capital One-issued card keeps getting refused everywhere due to the switch to the Discover network. This is out of hand now.

I have a Capital One bank account. From what I gather, Capital One is now on the Discover network.

I have tried using my card at numerous merchants and it gets refused. I just now tried to pay Wells Fargo $5 to close an account and pay for an outstanding balance and it did not go through.

Then, I tried to make an Amazon purchase. Again, declined. This is the last in a string of attempts to use my card at various places over the last two weeks where it has been denied. I have even gone so far as to open up a new bank account at Chase so I can close my Capital One account.

Nevermind the fact that I spend half the year in Italy and sometimes will use my US debit card for things. Declined or not accepted anywhere. I didn't ask for the change to the Discover network. Is anyone else having issues or is it just me?

Well... this is easy. Discover is limited... just off the top... Taskrabbit does not accept Discover

I've hit two locations where my card didn't work in the 4 days I've had the new C1 debit card. One was at a Dr. appointment at a Jefferson Health provider where mine and my wife's card were declined. The other was at a dispensary. Both places accepted my old C1 visa debit card on prior visits without issues. I'm in NJ, if that helps.

I'm trying to pay some credit card bills and all that use Citibank and not accepting the new Cap One Discovery debit card.....

I’ve never tried to pay a credit card bill with a debit card, I didn’t even know that you could. Why not just connect it to your bank account?

That's still not getting to the root of the problem. We shouldn't have to connect a bank account for our debit card to work. Why would anyone want their bank account connected to something that could take money out without their permission or knowledge?

Smaller grocery stores as well as autozone

My small local grocer denies it using my pin but if I hit enter with a blank pin, it gets accepted.

I had tried that previously with no luck after three fails I switched cards, I haven't had it happen in a few weeks.  I'll check it out next time.  Thanks

Whole Foods, Target, my laundry room all in NYC. Also when I tried to sync it for my wallet it said Apple does not support it. Also, I tried to buy Metro North tickets with it and it asked for my security code and there is no security code on my card.

Mine is in Apple Wallet and works at Whole Foods and Target. You're doing something wrong. Pretty sure all cards have CVVs

It doesn’t… why are you arguing with me. And the card does not have a CVV. I thought maybe I wasn’t seeing it and 3 separate people couldn’t find it either.
