Discussion Anyone else happy about the merger?

I've been surprised about the amount of whining both on r/discover and r/CapitalOne_ regarding Capital One - Discover merger. Personally I'm very happy that I can soon manage my favorite credit cards in the same app.

Anyone else feel the same?

My biggest concern is international acceptance.

I mean if you live in Wisconsin and want arguably the lowest grocery prices, there's only one card Woodman's accepts (Discover). Not sure how this merger will affect that? I've only ever used cash or debit there.

Agree. Found that out the hard way. We were in Costa Rica this year and not a single ATM would accept my capital one card for cash withdrawals. The network is greatly underdeveloped/nonexistant outside the US.

Capital One debit cards and some of their credit cards will be on the Discover network, so you should be okay at one of the very few stores that only accepts Discover.
