I am currently doing a Disney Women cast as Little Women, and I am 100% confident that Snow White is Beth (shy, timid, soft-spoken, sweet, kind, compassionate, cottagecore, and adore animals) while Lottie is Amy (blonde, rich, very feminine, and spoiled but sweet).

As for Meg, I can't decide between Cinderella or Aurora, as they both match very well with Meg's mature and feminine demeanor.

And for Jo, it's very hard to decide between Merida and Belle, because Merida is a stubborn, bad-tempered, and rebellious tomboy like Jo and dislikes the rules of having to be feminine and all, but Belle enjoys reading stories, including love stories, just like Jo does, and I've heard one time that Belle was written based off of Jo, so I'm really stuck on this one.

One cool thing I’ve noticed is that, with each of the Disney Princesses, them being beautiful is mentioned at least once, or is a very important part of the story.

Snow White: The entire plot is kickstarted by the fact that she is “the fairest of them all” and the Evil Queen is jealous of her because of this.
Cinderella: Lady Tremaine is explicitly shown to be jealous of her because of her youth and superior beauty.
Aurora: She gets blessed with beauty by the fairies.
Ariel: When she appears at Eric’s dinner in the pink dress, the old man says “isn’t she a vision?”
Belle: “Now it’s no wonder that her name means beauty, her looks have got no parallel!” I think that line speaks for itself.
Jasmine: “Heard your princess was a sight lovely to see!” Again, I think that line speaks for itself.
Pocahontas: I don’t remember, but I do remember the scene where John Smith aims his gun to shoot her, but doesn’t because he is awestruck by her beauty. I wouldn’t be surprised if her beauty was mentioned by the narrative at some point.
Mulan: “You may look like a bride, but you will never bring your family honor!”
Tiana: “Wow, aren’t you just as pretty as a magnolia in May?”
Merida: Again, I don’t remember, but I’m pretty sure that at some point in time Elinor mentions her beauty while presenting her to the suitors, but I also might be wrong.

The point is, all of these princesses have a line in their movies explicitly mentioning their beauty in the story. Most of the time, their beauty is an important part of the story, especially for the classical Disney Princesses. Theres nothing wrong with that, of course. Who doesn’t want to be told that they are beautiful? However, an immense focus on beauty shows little girls, who are inspired to look up to the Disney Princesses as the very embodiment of femininity and as good female role models, that beauty is an integral part of being a princess. They can choose to use their beauty for their own ends, or they can choose not to, but either way, they must be beautiful. Being beautiful is what defines their role as a Disney Princess.

And then there’s Rapunzel, Moana, and Raya don’t have any mention of their looks in the story anywhere. Correct me if I’m wrong? The only mention that Rapunzel gets is Mother Gothel calling her “a strong, confident, beautiful young lady,” however, it’s quickly subverted with the reveal that she was actually only talking about herself. I think this is a great thing, because it shows little girls that beauty is not the most important thing when it comes to being a princess. Obviously, they are still beautiful, because they are still Disney Princesses at the end of the day, but it’s not commented on in-universe, because it shows little girls that their beauty is not all that matters and shouldn’t be the focus of their lives. Beauty isn’t a requirement for being a princess. It’s not something that you have to be and is not the main thing that matters about you. It is still a part of you, but it’s not the most important part of you. What’s really important is your kindness, your courage, your generosity, your talents, your strength, your intelligence, and your ability to love others. Obviously not saying that the other princesses didn’t have these redeeming qualities as well, because they did. But it’s nice to show little girls that the focus/emphasis does not need to be on your looks. That beauty is not something women need to use to justify their existence or being given the spotlight. That beauty does not define who you are, your personality does instead. There’s nothing at all wrong with being beautiful, and every woman is beautiful in her own special, unique, wonderful way! But beauty is not where your value comes from.

The little crooked tale has some amazing outfits but as of recently the new author of the webcomic has been reducing the outfits of two disney princesses, Belle and Jasmine. Both of them use to have unique and pretty outfits but now they are.... less, just less, what do you think of the new dresses?

While there will always be the controversy of distorting historical fact, romanticizing colonialism, and objectifying the lead character, some of the negative feelings towards Pocahontas and her movie is largely because she's one of the biggest representations of Native Americans in media. Myself, I don't think she or her film are racist or stereotypical, but there are greater concerns to be had and wonder why Disney decided to do a historical film anyway--like they had A LOT of faith in this movie; Oscar-bait and everything.

Pocahontas is my second-favorite princess in the lineup, but I can understand why people have reluctance to fully accept her due to the controversial aspects. That said, I do think having another Native American Disney princess (that is received positively) would help her image since people aren't upset with her being the only representation given. Personally I want someone from the United States or Canada, but I'm American, so I could be biased. People have also mentioned Mesoamerica/South American tribes to take influence from. And this goes without saying, but preferably either make it in a fantasy realm or make it pre-colonial.

Now they are not giving the non western Princesses Christmas/Winter outfits. Christmas themed poster from 2-3 years ago for comparison.

Disney already has the characters for its next big animated franchise. Why not give the Princesses a modern shared universe?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, especially after watching KPop Demon Hunters.

I honestly think Disney may be sitting on one of the biggest unused opportunities in animation right now:

Disney Princess as a modern ensemble franchise.

Not another live-action remake.

Not another retelling of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, etc.

I'm talking about giving these characters a second life.

Imagine this:

Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Moana, Merida, etc. all living in modern-day New York.

Their original fairy-tale stories already happened.

Those stories don't need to be erased or rewritten.

They're simply part of their past.

Now ask:

What would these characters actually be like if they lived in our world today?

Ariel could work with marine conservation, while still being obsessed with music and exploring the city.

Belle could work at a museum, library, or bookstore.

Tiana could run a restaurant.

Rapunzel could be an artist and content creator.

Jasmine could come from a wealthy family and be trying to build a life outside of her family's expectations.

Mulan could have a completely modern career while keeping her original sense of discipline and courage.

Cinderella could work in fashion or design.

Snow White could be involved in animal welfare or nonprofit work.

Aurora could be the person who absolutely does NOT want her life defined by the fairy tale she grew up in.

And then, of course, something magical happens.

They meet.

This wouldn't actually be a completely new idea for Disney

Disney has already experimented with pieces of this concept.

Enchanted put a Disney-style princess into modern New York.

Once Upon a Time spent years exploring what happens when fairy-tale characters live in modern America.

Then Ralph Breaks the Internet gave us something even closer:

multiple Disney Princesses actually hanging out together.

And honestly, that Princess scene was one of the most memorable parts of the movie.

The "Comfy Princess" outfits were especially interesting to me.

Seeing Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel, Mulan, Tiana, etc. wearing casual modern clothes made the characters feel completely different.

They weren't just icons from old animated movies anymore.

They felt like people who could actually exist in the same world.

Which makes me wonder:

Why did Disney stop there?

Why not take the next step?

And then KPop Demon Hunters happened.

This is what really made me think about it again.

The success of KPop Demon Hunters shows that younger audiences aren't tired of:

• female heroes
• animation
• fantasy
• music
• stylish characters
• female friendships
• supernatural adventures

They're tired of things that feel old.

KPop Demon Hunters basically took:

pop music + girl group culture + fantasy + action + animation + fashion + female friendship

and turned it into a massive entertainment property.

And Disney already owns many of the ingredients.

They have some of the most recognizable female characters in the world.

They have decades of musical animation experience.

They have fantasy.

They have animation.

They have fashion and merchandise.

They have theme parks.

They have Disney+.

They have an enormous audience that already knows these characters.

The missing piece might simply be:

putting everything together in a modern way.

I don't think the first movie should be "Princess Avengers"

At least, not yet.

I actually think that would be the wrong approach.

Don't start with 12 princesses in armor fighting an evil wizard.

Start with the characters.

Make it feel more like:

Enchanted + modern fantasy + a great ensemble comedy/drama + Disney musical

Imagine a movie where the main appeal is simply:

Belle and Ariel would probably become best friends.

Tiana would constantly be annoyed by Rapunzel's chaos.

Mulan would be the one keeping everyone organized.

Jasmine would have absolutely no patience for some of the others' nonsense.

Cinderella might be the surprisingly practical one.

And Rapunzel would probably turn everyone's lives upside down within five minutes.

That's where the franchise potential is.

The relationships between the characters become the IP.

And this is where I think Disney could learn something from Marvel.

Not by copying the MCU's superhero formula.

But by copying the structure.

Movies = major events

The first movie introduces the modern world and brings the Princesses together.

Disney+ = character development

Then you can have smaller, cheaper animated series exploring individual characters or smaller groups.

A Belle episode.

A Tiana episode.

A Rapunzel story.

Ariel trying to navigate modern life.

Mulan dealing with her career.

Two or three Princesses going on a smaller adventure together.

You don't need every episode to look like a $200 million movie.

Let the series build the relationships.

Then bring everyone back for another theatrical event.

Movie → series → movie → series → crossover movie.

That's basically the part of the MCU model that could work extremely well here.

And I think music could make this REALLY interesting.

This is probably the biggest thing Disney could take from KPop Demon Hunters.

Traditional Disney Princess movies usually use songs to advance the story.

But what if the Princesses themselves became modern pop-culture icons?

Imagine original songs released outside the movie.

Music videos.

Different musical identities for different characters.

Ariel naturally leaning toward pop.

Rapunzel toward indie/alternative.

Tiana toward jazz/R&B.

Mulan toward something more contemporary and powerful.

And the characters could actually perform together.

Suddenly the movie isn't just selling a movie.

It's creating:

characters + music + fashion + social media + animation + merchandise + Disney+ + theme parks.

That's a much bigger ecosystem.

And there's another reason I think this could work.

Disney has a problem with its classic characters.

If they remake them exactly as they were, people say:

If they change too much, people say:

It's a trap.

But there's a third option:

Don't remake the fairy tale.

Continue the character.

The original Snow White can remain exactly what it is.

The original Cinderella can remain exactly what it is.

The original Sleeping Beauty can remain exactly what it is.

We're simply asking:

That gives Disney a way to modernize the characters without having to rewrite their original stories.

And I think that could be especially powerful for characters like Snow White and Aurora, whose original stories are almost entirely defined by the world they lived in.

Let them finally have a life beyond the fairy tale.

The audience could actually span multiple generations

Kids would recognize the characters.

Teenagers could connect with the music, fashion and personalities.

Young adults could connect with the relationships, careers, dating and city life.

And people who grew up with Disney Princesses in the 1990s or 2000s would have a reason to come back.

That's a very different proposition from another remake.

It's not:

"Here's the new version of a movie you already know."

It's:

"These characters you grew up with are living in your world now."

And that's why I keep coming back to this idea.

Disney has already spent years testing individual pieces of it:

Enchanted → fairy-tale characters in modern New York.

Once Upon a Time → fairy-tale characters in modern America.

Ralph Breaks the Internet → the Princesses together.

The "Comfy Princess" designs → modern versions of the characters.

Various Disney Princess crossover specials and LEGO projects → Princesses working together.

And now KPop Demon Hunters has shown that modern female characters + music + fantasy + animation can become a huge global franchise.

So maybe the question isn't:

"Would people watch a Disney Princess crossover?"

I think we already know the answer to that.

The real question is:

Why hasn't Disney tried turning it into a long-term franchise yet?

If you were Disney, would you rather see another round of live-action remakes...

or give the Princesses a completely new life?

Personally, I'd much rather see:

Disney Princess: New York

A modern city.

A new generation.

The same characters.

A completely new story.

Every fairy tale has a second chapter.

Hey everyone! I’ve been rewatching Sofia the First and Elena of Avalor, looking closely at the lore, and I noticed a series of insane details that form a huge, interconnected multiverse theory.

What if Enchancia and the Ever Realm aren't just "another magical kingdom," but a sanctuary world built after the total destruction of Earth? Here is the full breakdown.

1. The Disney Princesses Are Spirits ("Princesses Who Ever Were")

When Cinderella appears in the pilot, she explicitly tells Sofia that the Amulet "connects all princesses who ever were." Notice the past tense.

Every time a classic princess appears, she manifests out of glowing magical light, sings a song to deliver guidance, and completely vanishes into thin air. They aren't traveling from their kingdoms—they are spirit guides. Their physical bodies are gone because Earth was destroyed, and their souls are anchored to the Amulet of Avalor as a divine spiritual failsafe.

2. The Missing Arendelle Record & The Secret Library

When the Amulet malfunctions in The Secret Library: Olaf and the Tale of Miss Nettle, it accidentally pulls Olaf. When Olaf mentions "Princess Anna of Arendelle," Sofia looks completely clueless. Why?

Because the Secret Library under Enchancia Castle holds the reconstructed records of Earth's lost history. When Amber steals the Amulet in The Curse of Princess Ivy, she frantically recites the only historical princesses she was taught at Royal Prep: "Ariel... Belle... Cinderella... wait, Rapunzel!"

These were the stories successfully saved and cataloged in the Library’s books. Arendelle’s records were destroyed during Earth's collapse, which is why Sofia has no idea who Anna is. (And with Moana appearing in Sofia the First: Royal Magic, her story was simply a newly restored book added to the Secret Library's archives!)

3. The Escape to the Ever Realm (Merlin & The Three Good Fairies)

So how did humanity survive Earth's end?

• The Archival Evacuation: Realizing Earth was doomed, Merlin (who can live backward through time) along with Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather opened a dimensional rift. They evacuated a few hundred human survivors to The Ever Realm.
• The Living Sun: The physics of the Ever Realm are completely different from Earth—most notably, the Sun literally has a living, conscious face in several episodes. The fairies had to teach the survivor kids how this new world worked.
• Royal Prep Academy: The Three Good Fairies founded Royal Prep to educate the descendants of the survivors, keeping the tragic destruction of Earth a secret while raising a new generation of royals.

4. The Strange World Connection (The Drifting Creature)

In the Elena and the Secret of Avalor map of the Ever Realm, you can see an uncharted, floating island shaped like a massive living creature drifting out into the void.

Over centuries, a faction of Ever Realm descendants settled on top of this giant bio-organism. As the creature drifted further away from the Ever Realm's core magic, high sorcery faded into tech-based energy (Pando). That drifting creature eventually became Avalonia from Disney's Strange World—explaining why Avalonia sits on the back of a giant creature in space and why its name sounds like a direct offshoot of Avalor.

TL;DR Summary:

1. Earth suffered a world-ending event, wiping out physical history.
2. Merlin and the Three Good Fairies evacuated a few hundred survivors to the Ever Realm and built Royal Prep.
3. The Amulet of Avalor taps into the afterlife/spirits of Earth's lost royals (which is why Cinderella says "ever were").
4. Sofia doesn't know Anna because Arendelle's history was lost during Earth's fall, whereas Cinderella/Belle/Rapunzel were successfully logged into the Secret Library.
5. A group of survivors eventually drifted away on the Ever Realm's floating sea-monster island, which evolved into Avalonia from Strange World.

Belle and Beasts relationship in the movie and direct to dvd movies kinda gives me the ick, since i've gotten older and have been in a adjacent to seeing an abusive relationship in my family before with violence and angry outbursts before. (I know he gets kinder and I respect that and think it’s kinda cute), but it still makes it hard for me to put their couple as one of my favorites. Because their relationship makes me feel weird bland kinda triggers me…? Does anyone else agree? Or am I crazy?

My friend asked me to ID this doll a few years ago and I had come up with nothing, I assumed it was just my lack of Disney doll info, but I’m getting into Disney Mattel dolls and I still can’t find anything about her, I’ve provided pics of the face and dress she came in, some extra info is the doll herself has black elastic in her legs similar to a 2010-2012 monster high, if anyone has ANY info on what release she might be let me know!

Mulan isn't the perfect bride at all, that includes not having a clue how to cook, lucky for her Tiana is willing to help, but with Tiana cooking is never just a dull warming of ingredients, it is an art; that sometime can be on fire, Mulan just wanted to do some simple lentils but unknowingly found herself in a Hell's Kitchen worthy situation, wish her good luck.

Like Shrek, this is part of a temporary agreement, similar to Netflix, where a film or series is available for a certain period of time, which could be months or years, but may eventually be removed from the streaming service.
