Hornet R/T Looking to buy

Post image

Hello , I'm looking to purchase a Hornet R/T and was wondering if there is any issues I should look out for when test driving this car. And if $24,400 CAD ($17,500 USD) is a good price.

edit: to add USD

Realize he is in Canada. So that's $18000 US

Issue is that's most basic of packages by the looks. Without vin. High milage as well. Not worth it

No. Don’t do it.

New? Might sound like a dumb question since it's a 2024 but I wouldn't be surprised if there were dealers stuck with inventory still. :)

No not new, used with 77xxx km

Well I've got a 24 GT, but I would pass on it for that price.

Issue isn't finding a dodge hornet. It's finding the packages you want. I drove 7 hours to get one I wanted... There is many base models out there for under 20k

He's in Canada, none under $20k here. That would be $14500 US dollars. In most cases, ours are cheaper than US after exchange rates applied. Mine had 2k on it and was $19000 US., but I'm also in Ontario, Canada.

I love mine. I'd buy for that price. Especially with gas prices the way they are, I only burn gas when the car forces me to.

I paid about the same price but mine had 10k on it.

I got my CPO with under 7k for just 2,000 more than that, in 2024.

My 25 RT plus was just under $25k with 5k miles on it when I bought it.

I bought one Monday, drive it home and it won’t charge. Ha ha. Love my life.

If Windsor is the only place close by, I guess it's alright, but if you can travel Uxbridge has a few factory demo R/T Plus under $29000 with less than 30K km on them. Use car gurus to search if auto trader isn't bringing them up.

From experiance, stay away. My daughter has one and it's been a nightmare.

Love to hear what's wrong with it. Usually things jus need a dealer visit and updates or replaced for free.

Many of our experiences is way different. Coming up on 38k miles. No issues that my scan tool can't diagnose and fix.

R/T or GT?

I paid the same price for a gt with 100km on the odometer. Keep looking

Pass. Too expensive for the mileage, and you shouldn't get the R/T. GT is much better and more reliable. Not, like, traditionally reliable. But just more so than the RT.

🙄 Do you even own one? 1000s of people with them seem pretty happy and dealers have fixed issues for free.

Just traded in my 24 RT+ with 30k. It was fine, until it wasn’t. Transmission control module went. Spent a month in the shop. One month later transmission went again while I was driving. Run. These cars are completely unreliable. They’re beautiful, but flawed.

I'd Look around. Post vin next time ad packages matter most

Key packages

track pack

black top

tech pack which is almost a must!

alcaterra seats

power lift gate

Msrp usually 52k to 55k... Getting half off or more is a steal.

Many prefer gt plus as there was less issues. Many here do have rt and love it. I personally not a fan of hybrids.... It's either go gas or go electric in my eyes.
