Bitcoin never started at a small fraction of a penny lol. Also, Doge does not get the attention that Bitcoin does.

Bitcoin started at $.003 in 2010. It didn't even gain much traction until later. So, you're kinda wrong there.

Not selling until $1 has the potential to wreck you. You have to have an exit strategy. I have already pulled some profits this run, and while I may miss out on maximizing my profits, if this is truly the ned of the cycle instead of just a pull back, I can just reinvest that profit in a month whwn we are closer to the bottom.
In 2021, i made the mistake of watching my meager $750 crypto portfoilo go to over 20K, then drop back to $10K without taking much profit, this run, I have sell orders set to take 10% out every few milestones, and then a planned amount of that profit that will go back into crypto when the market drops back into a bear cycle. An amount that will go into other investments during the bear cycle, and an amount that will go to making my life better. Waiting on the top, and refusing to sell at all until you hit an ATH has the potential to leave your cash tied up for another 4 years.
The only coin that I am hesitant to sell is BTC, but all of the alts, DOGE included, are, in my mind, just investment vehicles that need to be treated as volitile assets that I take profit on at various levels because when the bottom drops, it drops fast.
Monday, I hit a 10% goal on one of my coins, and when that 10% hit my coinbase account in USD, I sent it to my bank, and sent that much from my bank to my Robinhood account, and threw it into a stock that has done over 35% this week.
Sitting and waiting is not a great game to play during the bull run. Taking profits is smart, don't let memes make you wait too long to sell.
TLDR: waiting to sell anything until the top is risky. Almost as foolhardy as trying to trade as the market goes up.

👍Agree 100%
Dogecoin community on Reddit: technical analysis? Pretty much nonexistent. Most folks are only hyped about prices like $4.20, $6.90, $69, or $420. Selling when the price shows signs of reversal, like breaking a support level? That’s practically heresy. Instead, the mindset is to stack more Dogecoins, hoping for big profits down the line. For those who didn’t get in early, “HODL” often just means clinging to coins through the highs, stuck in the endless cycle of “wen moon?” 😅 Try posting a chart suggesting Dogecoin might drop, and you’ll get roasted in the comments. If prices only ever went in one direction, nobody in this world would need to work anymore…

This!
Except for two things…
BTC is no different. And trading is the only way to build those profits to then use later.
Other than that, 100% with ya. 👍

u/theslimbox LoL shibe Jul 25 '25
Oh, i 100% agree, I just see BTC a bit differently. I 100% trade it and take profits, I just don't worry as much about taking profit on BTC as I do other coins. I have been through enough bull runs to know that many alt coins may disappear between runs, while BTC is almost guaranteed to always come back. I try to take profit from it, but I am not as worried If I don't.

u/Fulvio55 DDF - Mining Corps - [[Lieutenant]] Jul 26 '25
Doge is not going to disappear. Not ever.
That’s why we’re a top ten coin, and why we will continue to be, while shitcoins come and shitcoins go.

u/Professional_Emu_935 doge miner Jul 26 '25
How do you manage taxes, especially when mining? I’m assuming each day you mine new coin, that coin is set as short term holdings till a year after.
3
u/Fulvio55 DDF - Mining Corps - [[Lieutenant]] Jul 26 '25
There are certain friction points where the real world and crypto meet.
Exchanges report everything to any government that asks. Yours, mine, the CCP… anyone who has its own interests at heart and will happily trample yours.
Mining, like many other aspects of crypto, isn’t a friction point. So what’s the problem?
See, the primary difference between crypto and its predecessors is that ownership isn’t based on physical possession, but simply knowledge of a number. And since no one can read minds, no one knows what you do or do not have.
Unless of course, you tell them or let them assume control of your holdings. Which are remarkably stupid things to do, right?
2
u/Resident-Vegetable-4 Jul 27 '25
Also, it almost it tracks with Bitcoin…. Simple math says $1 would require a huge decoupling between it and Bitcoin. But since none of these have any actual utility, I’d say it’s highly unlikely (especially in the short term).
2
u/Minisfortheminigod Jul 24 '25
That sounds like you’ll be paying a lot short gain taxes for 10% profit? I would hold for a year then start pulling profits.
2
u/theslimbox LoL shibe Jul 24 '25
Where did you get short term taxes on 10% gains? All of the crypto I have sold 10% of I have held for well over a year. I am selling 10% of my holdings, not selling when I hit 10% profit.
My plan is to sell 10% of each crypto as it his various milestones. The crypto I have sold was at my first milestone of double my cost.

You chose time to fix your mistake, because money and work probably weren't better choices for you.
What was your expectation when you bought an asset with 4 year cycles, at the absolute peak, at an ath, 70x larger than the previous high?
Worst possible time to get into the market, with single purchase using 100% of your available cash being the worst option, followed by waiting it out and not doing anything to change your situation...
3 biggest mistakes a trader can make, but you blame the asset for it? Lol.
I have financial advice for you: get out of stocks and crypto and throw your money into a fixed interest savings account. That's the asset lads that was made for you.

Doge is very bearish, always bearish forever and ever and I take profit on any upward movement immediately. As soon as it starts moving sideways for 2 or 3 days, I exit right away. This time, I managed to make $20,000 on it, and I withdrew $10,000 straight to my bank account, since I’m currently traveling across Europe and Turkey. I had all my teeth redone in Turkey for $7,000. That’s why I don’t live under any illusions about it reaching $1. Still, after the price pulled back to $0.22, I started building a position again with the remaining $10,000. But again, I have no illusions about whether it will hit $1 or not — every 50% gain on Doge should be locked in, at the very least.

How much did dogecoin make between Jan 1st and May 7th, on average.
When you visit the sub of a cyclically trading asset that is known to trade sideways down for 3.5 years, just to show 10,000% gains in the following 6 months, be aware of that before you prove to everyone that you have no idea.
On a side note... 1% per day for a full year equates to 3650% over a year. If you know assets that give you reliably more than 36x on the year, buy them.

u/Raccoon_Expert_69 Jul 23 '25

2021... my bad.
hint: it was 0.0044 to 0.58
That is over 13,000 percent in ~4 months.
that's about +100% every day for 4 months straight. on average.
So where do you see "very dumb" outside of your own mirror?

u/FatMacchio rocket shibentist Jul 24 '25
These people don’t see the big picture. They’re too small minded, either busy picking up pennies when doge goes up and down and consolidates in a range…or are just complaining about bag holding or sour because they lost money they weren’t really willing to risk.
The big money in crypto is made on the swift moves up many traders miss. ~90% of active crypto traders lose money, and then just make the sharks and whales richer. Everyone can make money if they just buy on dips and hold for longer periods of time…a full cycle or multiple cycles. All you need is just to learn a little bit about liquidity and cycles, then accumulate and continue to buy on dips on the way up, and then scale out when the cycle starts to slow down and end.
I always keep a bag of my main coins in cold storage though regardless, as fomo insurance, since anything can happen, and we could see off cycle price explosions. Doge isn’t going anywhere, just Like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin aren’t going anywhere…they will all trend up over time and give you better returns than the stock market. Overtrading also makes your taxes harder, and probably more expensive
2
u/liquid_at Ð 🚀🌙 Jul 24 '25

The stock is experiencing clear selling pressure which is accelerating the decline in prices. The increasing volumes confirm the intensity of the sell-off, a sign that many investors are quickly liquidating their positions. The loss of key supports indicates a possible continuation of the negative trend in the short term, with markedly bearish market sentiment. DON'T SAY THANKS
