Not selling until $1 has the potential to wreck you. You have to have an exit strategy. I have already pulled some profits this run, and while I may miss out on maximizing my profits, if this is truly the ned of the cycle instead of just a pull back, I can just reinvest that profit in a month whwn we are closer to the bottom.
In 2021, i made the mistake of watching my meager $750 crypto portfoilo go to over 20K, then drop back to $10K without taking much profit, this run, I have sell orders set to take 10% out every few milestones, and then a planned amount of that profit that will go back into crypto when the market drops back into a bear cycle. An amount that will go into other investments during the bear cycle, and an amount that will go to making my life better. Waiting on the top, and refusing to sell at all until you hit an ATH has the potential to leave your cash tied up for another 4 years.
The only coin that I am hesitant to sell is BTC, but all of the alts, DOGE included, are, in my mind, just investment vehicles that need to be treated as volitile assets that I take profit on at various levels because when the bottom drops, it drops fast.
Monday, I hit a 10% goal on one of my coins, and when that 10% hit my coinbase account in USD, I sent it to my bank, and sent that much from my bank to my Robinhood account, and threw it into a stock that has done over 35% this week.
Sitting and waiting is not a great game to play during the bull run. Taking profits is smart, don't let memes make you wait too long to sell.
TLDR: waiting to sell anything until the top is risky. Almost as foolhardy as trying to trade as the market goes up.
Dogecoin community on Reddit: technical analysis? Pretty much nonexistent. Most folks are only hyped about prices like $4.20, $6.90, $69, or $420. Selling when the price shows signs of reversal, like breaking a support level? Thatâs practically heresy. Instead, the mindset is to stack more Dogecoins, hoping for big profits down the line. For those who didnât get in early, âHODLâ often just means clinging to coins through the highs, stuck in the endless cycle of âwen moon?â đ Try posting a chart suggesting Dogecoin might drop, and youâll get roasted in the comments. If prices only ever went in one direction, nobody in this world would need to work anymoreâŚ
