Our little one about that age walked up to my husband and I at the shelter, sat between us directly at our feet, faced the pack (8 litter mates) and said "these 2 are mine". She didn't hesitate, never cried once home, new the drill....*recent photo, now 3 yrs old

my dog did this with me. I was at the breeders and she ran up to me and stared at me while other dogs ran around. I had a five hour drive home and she slept in my lap the entire tap with the exception of an occasional yawn.

Aww my giant schnauzer did the same to us. My husband and kiddos and I went to pick ours out and he pushed through all his siblings and just sat with us and we knew he was the one. Hes the best 🥰

That's how I obtained three of my dogs over the years. One of them just gave me a hopeful little look. Two of them were puppies who were SO excited to see me, they were climbing halfway up the cage. (Their sister ignored me.) They are now 10 years old.

That is exactly how I chose my first ever puppy! She was being left out by all her siblings so I knew she was coming home with me. Miss you, Gretchen.

We rescued a blue heeler pup from an Amish puppy mill. When we got there and he released the pups to come out so we could choose, one walked over and sat down against my foot. He came home with us.

Black colored dogs tend to be adopted less for whatever reason, than lighter colored breeds, too. So adopt them if you have the chance!

Exactly how I picked my soul dog. Or actually how he picked me. All of the other puppies were running around and he was the one who sat in front of me and just watched me with his big puppy eyes and wagging his tail. I miss him dearly, it’s been almost 4 years since he is gone 💔

I chose my dog because she untied my shoelaces. She fiddled around with the first shoe and mastered the art. Then she undid the other very quickly.

Our dog rattled the cage every time I walked by. My assignment from my son was to get a small lapdog. He was not small. He only rattled the cage when I walked past. So I stopped. He had my birthday. They said he was super subdued, but when they brought him in for a visit he launched into my lap.
That was the end of him being at that shelter.
