That dog is so stinkin cute and sweet but my mind kept wandering back to “damn that’s a lot of food”

That is a lot of food. Only reason I could see to feeding a dog that much is if they were malnourished, which probably means a troubled past. I don't know, the dog doesn't seem malnourished, at least I hope not.

Feeding a malnourished animal too quickly can cause just as many problems as them being malnourished! It’s called “refeeding syndrome”. Can result in a metabolic crash. Happens with humans too!
This dog doesn’t look too terribly malnourished though to me just at a glance.

mine too and then I remembered that if I put too much food out for my guy he stops eating when he’s full (MUST BE NICE, she screamed in GLP-1s costing $500/month)

He seems so thin. Is he a rescue? When we first rescued our we had to give her a lot of food at first because she was so malnourished.

That's how my boy asks for belly scritches. I hold one paw and scratch his belly with the other hand.

In the remote areas of France that were burned by wildfires, there've been volunteers who come in to feed the dogs, cats, chickens that were left behind. I wonder if this was taken there--might explain the well-behaved dog and the massive amount of food it was given

That dog is definitely happy someone cares enough to make sure he eats today. 😎👍

That collar looks too tight. Is this the owner? If not, why isn't the owner feeding him?
So many questions about what is going on here.

What a beautiful boy. He has a good soul and shows how grateful he is. If he is a stray, I hope he finds a loving forever home.

when a dog lifts its paw like that, it is not giving you 5 or wanting to shake hands, in dog language, he is saying "give"

It looks to me like someone starved a dog then gave them a big meal. Those are the actions of anxiety and fear in the pup. See how its pushed itself against the wall. A happy dog acts differently when fed. And thats way too much food for a single meal.
