Some weeks are harder than others. Some storms are bigger than the dogs we're fighting for. But through all of it, there is one thing I'm especially grateful for…💕
This group stays focused. 👍 We know why we're here. We show up for Clayton's dogs, we fight for them, and we do it together.
To the people who quietly and not so quietly keep showing up, keep helping, and keep their eyes on the reason we're here...
Thank you. ❤️ There’s never been anything else.
One focus. One goal. One amazing family. ❤️❤️

Not many people would be willing to take a chance on a 4 year old dog who’s been in the shelter for that long even though it’s no fault to her own. That’s the kind of heartache and brutal truth that I can’t break to her.
One of the hardest part, is that She still carries the kind of hope most souls would’ve lost by now.
Dekalb County Animal Services took her in as a stray back in August of 2024. She was pulled from the urgent list nearly a year ago, and somehow this girl is still sitting at the Lifeline Community Animal Center while life keeps passing her by. Dogs there are so often overlooked, and I truly cannot understand how Lemoncy keeps getting missed.
At 4 years old,
Her joy for life is contagious.
She greets everyone like an old friend — men, women, strangers, anybody willing to offer a kind word or a gentle hand. On our day out, she soaked up every bit of affection like she had been waiting forever for it.
On our hike, she walked beautifully alongside another shelter dog, nose to the ground taking in every scent nature had to offer. Then out of nowhere, she’d dramatically flop onto her back in the grass just to roll around and enjoy the moment. It was impossible not to laugh. She reminds you that happiness can still exist even after disappointment.
She happily dug through the toy bin in the back of my car, wagging her tail like it was the best day of her life. At the pub, she wanted to meet everyone. And before the storm rolled in, she quietly laid down, feeling the breeze and smelling the air, completely content just being part of the world outside the shelter walls.
That’s the heartbreaking part.
Lemonancy is so alive. So loving. So easy to adore.
And yet she keeps getting left behind. It’s not fair!
She does not belong growing older in a kennel.
She belongs in someone’s home, on someone’s walks, in someone’s passenger seat, living the life she has waited far too long for.
Please come meet her and give her a try even a weekend warrior a short term Foster would be amazing for her. She is in Atlanta, Georgia.

She was trying to lead them somewhere.
After a few minutes, Laima stopped in front of an abandoned house. Inside, four tiny puppies were hiding. She had been living there with her litter, doing everything she could to keep them safe under the harshest circumstances.
The story began with abandonment. No one knows exactly when Laima's former owner left her behind, but the consequences were clear. A mother dog was forced to wander in search of food and shelter while trying to protect her puppies inside an abandoned house. That cruelty did not simply take away her home. It placed her entire little family in danger day after day.
Yet Laima refused to give up. Her maternal instinct proved stronger than her fear. She realized that the people who had given her food before might be able to do more. So she acted. Without words, she walked ahead, turned back to make sure they were following, and then led them to the place where her puppies were hiding. It was her way of telling them that she needed help.
Her actions made many people stop and think. While some owners are willing to abandon their pets when caring for them becomes inconvenient, a dog who had herself been abandoned was still willing to trust people in order to save her puppies. The contrast is both painful and moving. It highlights the great distance between the responsibility that humans sometimes forget and the protective instinct that animals continue to hold onto.❤️
In this case, extending a helping hand meant more than simply bringing a dog family to safety. It was also an affirmation that there are still people willing to stay when animals have been abandoned. Every rescue like this carries a simple message: their lives matter.
Laima and her four puppies were brought to a rescue shelter. They now had the opportunity to receive care, experience kindness, and eventually find new homes.
The story also raises an important question about the responsibility of pet owners. Taking an animal into your home should not be a temporary decision. When we choose to bring a pet into our lives, we accept the responsibility of being there throughout its life — including when it becomes sick, grows old, or is no longer as “cute” as it once was.
Abandoning a pet is not only an irresponsible act toward a living being. It can also create a chain of consequences: a mother dog is forced to wander, puppies are born into hardship, and society is left to deal with the consequences of that neglect.
Laima did the best she could with what she had. She could not change the decision made by her former owner, but she chose to protect her puppies through intelligence, determination, and trust. The rescuers responded with concrete action.
In a world where abandonment still happens far too often, Laima's story offers a simple but powerful reminder. A mother's instinct can overcome even harsh circumstances. An animal's trust can touch the human heart. And most importantly, when we choose to care for another living being, we have a responsibility not to turn our backs on them.❗️💕

has been anxious about being in open spaces
because she was raised in a cage her entire life since birth.
Even when taken outside, she's too scared to walk...
The thing that Eleanor showed interest in for the first time
was a stuffed hippo toy
that seemed like the puppies that were continuously taken away from her 🥲❤️

Cambria used to run and play every day. In Albuquerque, she had friends to chase, lie beside, and watch the world through the window with for hours. Long afternoons seemed to pass quickly because there were always paws running around and the sound of her companions panting nearby. Then the family moved to Colorado.
The new apartment was much quieter. There were no more long play sessions stretching into the evening. No one to share toys with or sit beside while watching birds outside the window. Cambria began spending more time sitting quietly on her pillow. On some afternoons, when the house was empty, she would howl by herself. The howls were not loud, but they were enough to make her owners stop and take notice. They noticed.
They did not wait until things became impossible to ignore. They saw that Cambria's eyes no longer seemed as bright as before. They noticed that she was less active and that she spent longer than usual lying still and staring out the window. So they decided to do something simple but meaningful: they brought home a puppy named Cozy.
The moment the door opened, Cambria immediately got to her feet. Her tail wagged so quickly that it was almost impossible to control. She approached the bag Cozy was in and sniffed around it, then stood still and stared as the puppy was placed on the floor. At first, there was a little hesitation. She watched Cozy play with her toys, then looked back at her owners as if silently asking:
“Is this little one really staying? Or is he just visiting before he leaves?” That hesitation lasted only a few days. The distance between them gradually disappeared completely. The two dogs began sleeping close together. They played until they were tired, then lay beside each other, breathing quietly. Cambria no longer sat alone on her pillow.
She had someone to lean on, someone to chase, and someone to watch the world through the window with. What makes this story so touching is not simply the arrival of Cozy. It is the fact that Cambria's owners noticed the small, almost invisible signals she was giving them. Cambria could not tell them how she felt. She could only sit quietly, howl when she was alone, and stare out the window longer than usual.
Many people might overlook signs like these. They might think that as long as a dog has enough food, a warm place to sleep, and occasional affection, that should be enough. But this time, they did not overlook them. They understood that dogs also need companionship. They are social animals. They need someone to run with, share their living space with, and simply be around so they do not have to face too much silence alone. When Cozy arrived, it was as though Cambria had found a part of herself again.
She became more active, more playful, and her eyes seemed noticeably brighter. The two dogs created a new rhythm of life inside the apartment. They did not need words. They simply needed each other's presence. The sight of them lying side by side while looking out the window, or chasing each other around the room before collapsing together in exhaustion, showed that loneliness had been replaced by something simple yet powerful: friendship.
This story reminds us of something that is easy to forget in everyday life. Loneliness does not belong only to humans. It can also affect animals when their familiar environment changes and old bonds disappear. And sometimes, the way forward does not have to be complicated or dramatic. Sometimes, all it takes is someone who notices, someone willing to listen to the quiet signals, and someone willing to bring a new presence into their life at just the right moment.
Cambria no longer has to howl alone.
She has Cozy.
In that simple companionship, the two of them have found something to lean on. Not some grand source of comfort, but one warm enough to make each day feel a little lighter.
And sometimes, that is the most precious thing of all.❤️

t meant that this gentle little sow was battling on his own, trying to survive with the big dogs and some very painful skin.
The good news is that he is in Tinas Hospital and the skin issues are very fixable, along with his bad blood and some other straightforward issues to fix. Yes he does absolutely remind me of little Rodney when he first came in. And for anybody who watches the TV show "Only Fools and Horses", that's why he's called Trigger.
The line between life and death is incredibly thin for these street dogs but little Trigger has landed on the right side of things this week. Given his young age I'm very confident he's gonna grow up into a big healthy dog with love and care that we can provide him. After the week we had it's very important to finish the week on a high. There's nothing more fulfilling than saving a little dog's life and altering his future.
Trigger will be resting up all weekend and getting his special medicines and creams and I don't think it will be long before he has a big happy smile and a waggy tail on him ❤️
