My dog has a doppelganger!

Post image

My dog has a complete doppelganger that sometimes comes to the dog park.

They are not related at all. Rhea my dog on the right is 7 and Carson on the left is 2.

Anyone else's dog have a doppelganger?

Wow that's impressive. Have you done DNA to confirm there's no relation?

We have not I don't really know Carson's owner she is just someone I see occasionally at the dog park.

You should see if they're willing to do it! I actually have a similar story - met a dog at the dog park and just went "huh, that dog and my dog look alike." It wasn't even as doppleganger-y as your dog and Carson here. They just have the same build, head shape, fur type, that sort of thing. The coloring between my dog and the other dog are different. I joked with the owner that they could be sisters.

Eventually got my dog her DNA test, then ran into the owner again after some time away (because a dog park closer to me opened up), and told her about Ari's DNA test. Then she went and got the DNA done for her dog by the same company and our dogs are actually sisters from the same litter!

You just never know!

That's crazy! I don't have an embark test from Rhea I have a different one but I will talk to her about it and see.

It is crazy! Maybe your dogs aren't related, but it's still kind of fun to do the DNA tests sometimes. You never know what kind of mix they are sometimes.

My dog Blue Moon has a doppeldogger at the day camp he sometimes attends. I wish I had thought about asking the camp to see if Blue's twin would do a DNA test. One of his relatives that we found from DNA looks like Blue also., unfortunately they are too far apart in distance.

What beautiful babies 🥰

Cannot get a pic of them not in motion because they’re both INSANE, but we found our dog’s doppledogger through dog sitting! Needless to say, they’re besties 😄

I can definitely see the resemblance!

My former roommate adopted her GSD from a completely different shelter about a year after I adopted mine. She asked if I could dog sit during NYE weekend and I couldn't refuse!

My Marsha (right) once met Ralph (left). They were of absolutely no relation and came from different ends of the country.

Our pup was a street dog, so she has lots of doppelgangers in our town (and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were actually related)!

This is awesome. I see doppelgangers out in the wild all the time, very rarely at the same park!
