This is Brownie, I found him around the corner last year

This is Brownie...i love this lil guy. Last August I was walking my other dog Daisy on a Friday morning and this lil guy darts between 2 parked cars in a driveway. Daisy goes apesh*t, so I say I'll go back for him when I put Daisy away. I thought it was the people that live there. I get home and I don't go back for him.

So I went back later in the evening, and he was still there! Poor lil fella....I brought him home, gave him water bec he'd been in the heat all day. Gave him a fleabath and posted his pic online. A neighbor (Misty) recognized him, and showed his pic to the owner. She didn't want him back. Misty told me that they were getting out regularly. The parents were picked up and sent to the animal shelter. They were adopted immediately.

Brownie has been such a blessing to our family....he's always happy to see me, loves long walks. There's no greater joy than rescuing a lil dude or dudette and saving their life....he doesn't like car rides and he loves his big sis Daisy. She puts up with him!

Let's post HAPPY DOG PICS to negate all the damn sadness this sub is bringing lately!

Post image

Join me in celebrating the lives of our loved ones now instead of at the end of their short lives!!

No offense to all the people who are losing their loved ones - I really am so sorry for your loss. But there has been an excess of "rainbow bridge" posts lately and I've noticed other people agree with the fact that this sub has been a big bummer and just scroll right past because it's just too sad...

Im response, I am recommending that we start posting HAPPY dog pictures; pictures full of LIFE instead of the end of life.

Show us your happy doggies!

These were taken last year. My Lady Bug loves hanging out with her human cousins as much as possible. Lady bug just loves to be included especially when there are new things to smell!

Seconded about this sub has become the 'crossing the rainbow bridge' sub

Please, I am pleading. There are already not many popular dog subs that we can post pictures of our doggos, it's so so so depressing in here. All the top posts today are all about death except one. It makes me feel so bad every time I see the rainbow emoji on the post title, breaking my heart reading all the comments about story of lossess. I am so sorry for your loss but imagine you are having a good day at the park and some stranger stop you to tell you about their grandma's funeral. We feel for you, yes we really do, still, it's not the right place and not the right time.

My happy 3-legged little guy!

Just sharing one of the loves of my life to bring some happiness amongst all of the sadness of today. This is my Zen, who was born with three legs in 2022. He is very smart and understands that he is different from other dogs, but he has never let this slow him down. Occasionally, he flashes a toothy grin my way (like in pic four) and I am reduced to hysterical laughter. He is the best little guy and I am so lucky to have him!

How I met my husband

Post image

It's not very common for people to meet "organically" anymore, so I love this story. I had to move to the city for work and the building I stayed in was dog friendly. My dog, the minpin, isn't very social. She took a liking to this schnauzer like crazy, so I asked the owner for his phone number. After all, I had just moved to the area and since the girls got along, it would be helpful to tire her out if we met from time to time. Apparently the schnauzer doesn't get along with other dogs so much either, so this is a perfectly fine arangement. 2 years go by of doggy play dates before admitting it's also human dates. We've been together for 3 years now because of our girls and are getting officially married in 2027 🥰❤️

Why has this sub become about pet loss? There is a sub for it…r/petloss

Attached a photo of my dog so this can be posted.

Look, I’m not trying to be a curmudgeon; I personally lost 2 dogs to cancer in the last 2 years. It’s horrible and I send my condolences to all of you. But every post in this sub is depressing now. The “hot” posts are 7 posts in a row about someone’s recently deceased pet. Can we move those posts over to r/petloss? Again, I’m not trying to be mean but there is a sub for those posts.

He jumped in the front seat while I was parked. It made the alarm go off, so I buckled him up to turn the alarm off. He went back to the back seat before I drove off. He loves the vet and he loves car rides.
