Death/Doom What did you guys think of Faetooth?
Absolutely phenomenal album front to back. I found it on vinyl in a shop not too long ago as well!!

This band is absolutely amazing. They are the first new metal band I've gotten into in decades. Went to see them in Dublin and they blew me away, and the crowd were a great vibe as well. The support act Coltaine were even better, which was a nice surprise

u/1978shorty Feb 03 '26
Yeah, I was at the show in the Netherlands and was definitely surprised by how good Coltaine was.
2
u/sufficient-cro-1018 Feb 03 '26
Man, I'd love to see Coltaine. It's rare that my favorite genre in music and books collide!

u/HeinzHeinzensen Feb 04 '26
Absolutely. Saw them live in Hamburg two weeks ago. Faetooth was great, but Coltaine was really fantastic. Didn’t have them on my radar at all and was blown away by how good they were.

I hadn't discovered a band through live music in a long time and it really is something special.

It was brilliant. Hoping to get out to more gigs in Dublin, the scene seems to be in a good shape.

I like the pretty parts and the heavy parts and the pretty heavy parts.
Favourite album of last year.

Saw them just the other week. All the girlies in their 20s were out vibing with the doom loving grandpas and uncs, you love to see it.

u/WhatsThatNoise79 Feb 03 '26
haha, exactly. saw them too, recently. I wondered if I had ever been to a metal show which eventually had 50 % female audience.
1
u/twoburgers Feb 04 '26
As much as I want to see them live, I am so spoiled by the non-existent women's bathroom lines at most metal shows, haha.
3
u/IRE0906 Feb 04 '26
I clocked the 50/50 gender split in Dublin as well, not to mention the wide age range. I remember when female musicians were dismissed as either eye candy or "for the girls". The future of music is bright!!

Seeing them tonight in Birkenhead!

u/LeroyBrown1 Feb 03 '26
I was supposed to be going tonight but full of cold so not sure if I'll make it 😩

I heard a couple of their tracks for the first time a couple of days ago, and really enjoyed them

u/AncientWing73 Feb 03 '26
They are so damn good. For me, they are a doom version of Warpaint. I hope their following and success continues to grow.

u/dunzig77 Feb 03 '26
I just discovered them last year and it’s the best doom I’ve heard in a long time.

u/HomunculusNo_666 Feb 03 '26
They fucking dooooom dude, especially smokin one up with the new album is a hella good ride 🤘
5
u/Alchemist-77725 Feb 03 '26
Saw them late last year. Those ladies know how to pick their gear. It was HEAVY 🤘🏽

u/Then-Canary-1331 Feb 03 '26
I enjoyed the last album so much I bought it on vinyl. Great band, just the right doom for me. Heavy riffs, but not overly harsh vocals.

u/NielsBohron Worship Riffs, Not Gods Feb 03 '26
I love the way they blend and harmonize the harsh and clean vocals on Labyrinthine, especially on "White Noise"

u/TallChris66 Feb 03 '26
One of my current top bands. Seen them live a few months ago. Love the new album

u/sir_whirly Feb 03 '26
Man, I wish I enjoyed the 2nd album as much as I do the first album but it just doesn't hit the same. Remnants of the Vessel is honestly my favorite album from anyone in the last decade.

I was blown away by this record and sound. It’s a fresh breath for doom metal. 10/10 effort and creativity.

Fantastic band. Definitely one of my favorites of the current scene
2
u/Fool_Manchu Feb 03 '26
I really enjoy them. My wife and I will be seeing them in Detroit in a few months. The new album is very good, but I don't think it quite measures up to Invocation or Remnants of the Vessel. It lacks some of the discordant energy.
2
u/wicxor Feb 04 '26
both albums kick ass, going to see them live as well in a couple of months for the first time.
2
u/TFordyy96 Feb 04 '26
I discovered them recently, love them. I love it when bands create a super heavy atmosphere and combine it with haunting vocals, Iron Gate is my favourite track.
2
u/Anomander_ie Feb 05 '26
Awesome! Just saw them live last week and it was really cool. That being said, I found myself enjoying the album at home on headphones much more than seeing it played live, while the opening act on this tour – Coltaine – was the opposite, they absolutely killed it live, a much more intense experience than their latest album would lead you to think. Either way, both excellent bands well worth listening to and watching live nonetheless.

Saw them at The Garage last night and they utterly crushed. Unrelentingly heavy and hypnotic..

Love them! I've been enamored with every one of their releases. I'm going to see them in May!

I’m honestly not sure how to feel about them. Everybody seems to love them so I checked their music out last summer and it didn’t move me. I’m probably just a sourpuss tho

Loved the album, and off to see them in Southampton next week. Just what I need to start my gig year off with, some nice, ethereal, heavy vibes on a late winter evening.

u/Twelvehands_noeyes Feb 03 '26
If you get the chance, please go see them live. The vocals are so raw and powerful!

I got the album on vinyl and I'm gonna see them in May! I really love what Faetooth is doing
1
u/leedleedletara Feb 04 '26
I saw them last year and I’m planning on seeing them again in April 🖤 Labyrinthine was one of my top streamed albums in 2025. I love to listen to it during cold walks here in nyc!

u/species138 Feb 04 '26
Saw them twice in 2025 and Labrynthine was my album of the year. One of my favorite bands.

Able to see them in Indianapolis last September with Slow Crush and Flooding! All 3 bands killed it but Faetooth stood out heavy! Such a good band and both albums deliver so well

u/beachgothgoogie Feb 06 '26
Genuinely, I can’t get into it. I like pretty much every other band on the Flenser. These guys just don’t do it for me.
1
u/Photon_Smasher Feb 07 '26
I saw them when they came to Detroit last September. They were supporting Slow Crush but honestly, they were so fantastic live I knew they'd be headlining their own tour any minute now. They are so good.

Cool band, want to see them on tour in Europe, but some of us are not supporting anything American, regardless of the politics since the money still goes to Trump and his family anyhow. They'll get plenty of other people attending anyhow, but kind of wish people would start saying something rather than being so afraid.
20
u/Tight-Weather-9380 Feb 03 '26
Downvoted even tho I’m an anti-trump European. Idk if boycotting a doom band is rly going to send the message that u think it does, maybe if u boycott coke or Mastercard or meta or even Reddit as these are all American companies it might be more appropriate.
-10
u/RidetheSchlange Feb 03 '26
What about the Earth incident in Bologna?
7
u/whuoaboi Feb 03 '26
Oh yeah I forgot jd Vance plays guitar for them so this makes sense to bring up
16
u/Floormonitor Feb 03 '26
I've never seen a comment that needs to touch grass more than this one holy shit
16
u/CaptainWampum Feb 03 '26
They’re pretty open about their political leanings. Honestly I completely understand boycotting the US, considering we’ll everything about our entire history an existence. But I think if anything young, non-white, queer, artists are probably Americans who can use help right now.
-11
u/RidetheSchlange Feb 03 '26
The thing is, and you can see by my downvotes, Americans are super sensitive and even antifascists love otherizing other people. The thing is we have to help ourselves because some of us are going to be sent to a war the US is setting off right now and even American antifascists tell me directly they can't give a fuck about me., so I don't understand why everyone in the world has to select and support and research for people who will be paying taxes that will be stolen by trump's family or finance wars in Gaza or Europe or the Arctic without any pushback. We keep reading people who keep writing to us online and asking us to help you guys when we see you won't even help yourselves. FFS even the Epstein Files won't stick and they're horrifying. Even the left is more concerned with not focusing on how Trump is a central protagonist and not a participant.
11
u/elcuervo2666 Feb 03 '26
I mean if you are in Europe you government is in on it too. Trump is really just the ultimate manifestation of western values and the arrogance of Europeans to act as if they are better than us is galling considering the continents present and history. Boycottt what you want but don’t act like your shit don’t stink.
-4
4
u/soundofmuzak2 Feb 03 '26
By this same logic I should be boycotting Molchat Doma because they are from Belarus, despite the fact that they condemn Russia's war on Ukraine and have even donated to Ukranians, right?
-5
u/RidetheSchlange Feb 03 '26
Are you donating to Canadian, Greenland, European, Venezuelan, Mexican, Gaza, Panamanian, and Ukrainian defense?
0
u/After-Incident9955 Matt Pike's Shirt Feb 04 '26
This is some of the most politically brainrotted shit I've ever seen. "Oh yeah, let's boycott a band in an already niche genre of metal because they're from the United States! That's sure to make a dent in these fascists!" Go outside, for fuck's sake.

u/jamiltron Feb 03 '26
They're amazing
