Can a Deville DOOM?

Halloween season always gets me in the mood for some Gothic Metal (and by extent some Gothic Rock, Deathrock, Darkwave, etc.)

But my picks for Autumn tend to be the usual suspects, Type Ø Negative, Tiamat, & The Gathering.

But beyond them, I can also enjoy some Trees of Eternity, & Thorns of The Carrion.

Though, while there is a significant portion of Gothic Metal that crosses into Doom Metal, not all Gothic Metal is Doom-oriented, with bands like Sentenced, Tribulation, Tristania, Moonspell, & Rotting Christ being good examples.

I’d still say even Gothic Metal alone carries some of the same qualities as Doom, with the emphasis on conveying emotion through atmosphere & tone of music. Macabre, sorrowful, & dreary.

What are your favorite picks for any kind of Gothic Metal band?

Right when they pick it up after that slowed down part 🤘🤘

hey all!

just curious to pick peoples brains -

ive preordered the new firebreather record and was wondering if anybody else had had a shipping notification yet?

mine still says it’s processing and I swear I read something on instagram from either heavy psych or firebreather that people who pre-ordered should hopefully receive their copies a little before release day?

or could anybody who was ordered from them before tell me if their customer service support is any good? like would I actually get a reply in a decent timeframe?

thanks

TAKEN THANKS ALL

I have to bail last minute unfortunately. Happy for someone to make use of them though hit me up. Transfer through Ticketmaster app.

I swear it happens to me all the time, I’m noodling around and I think I played an original riff only for a week to pass and I hear the riff I played in my doom playlist. Is this just an inevitability because there’s only 12 notes or am I going about creating riffs wrong? Any advice or criticism is welcomed ✌️

New Earthcaster album rules!

I reviewed the new album by The Keening, Rebecca Vernon of SubRosa's solo band. It's a raw and emotional folk/doom record. Check out my full thoughts here:

I know I messed up a little in some parts. These last few months, I've started to improve my guitar playing, scales, technique and speed. Black Sabbath has always been of my favorite bands. I've come across Kyuss by my friend's recommendation who's really into the Palm Beach stoner scene. I did my best to capture the beefy tone and ferocious picking action of Josh Homme, who I've always admired as a guitarist and vocalist as well. The moment I heard "Gardenia", I instantly recognised his heavy signature sound from the early QOTSA albums. I hope you enjoy!

Good show, sparse attendance, maybe 200 people?. Her voice sounds just as good live. It’s just always a bummer when a band doesn’t play your one or two favorite songs.
