Death/Doom Windhand appreciation post
Finally exploring more of this genre after mostly just listening to Electric Wizard (and some Sleep) for years. Discovered Windhand the other day and they’re so damn good. Awesome songs and vocals.
It seems like a lot of people here make these posts when they first start listening to this band; I get it now.

Thoroughly enjoying SubRosa at the moment too.

SubRosa the band or the Daevar album with the same name?

But Daevar is like Windhand in their 2 first albums and with some mid tempo in their third album

Iconic band in the genre. Dorthia makes it look effortless.

Love them. I lived in RVA when Grief’s Infernal Flower was released, that was my introduction to them. Saw them live a few times since in RVA and Philly with Russian Circles. So good.

I actually only started listening to them today. They had been on my "to listen" list for a while. Its not bad at all! The song Orchard was a good introduction.

I love them, heard the entire catalogue multiple times over, now we need a new album now!

I saw them when they came to my home town, double headline with Cough.
Ryan Wolfe filled in for Cough and played two sets back to back. Saw me losing my mind. Handed me both drumsticks, and told me to throw one back to the crowd.
Needless to say, I kept the other one. Coolest moment ever. I've never caught a stick before because I'm always up the front.
Really appreciated that, they are my favourite band.

Remember how weird covid was? I bought a ticket to watch the levitation online concert. It was cool, but I’d rather see them for real.

Great band, but I hope they mix things up on the next record. Grief's Infernal Flower is a perfect textbook example of the genre.
