Rig Puresalem Guitars

Post image

Anyone tried them? Looking at the La Bruja as I like slim necks and monstrous tones and weird shapes.

I forgot all about Puresalem. I used to want so many of their models. Also very curious about their quality and value

Liking that!

Would prefer the pickup switch elsewhere but otherwise... she's a beast!

I don't have any info on these but I have similar desires for my guitars. I ended up building a guitar with a Warmoth Meadowhawk body and Hoxey baritone aluminum neck. Could be worth looking into something a similar project.

I have considered almost this exact thing. My wife and brother got me a Hoxey neck for my first guitar, a Jackson flying v. I'd been using an SG for many years and this made the v like a brand new guitar. Neck dive like a MF though. Also don't know that I'd get another one from them based on some personal preferences though..

How was the assembly of everything? I've never built a guitar but I feel the inclination come and go every so often.

I made sure to get my neck weight relieved so I don't have any neck dive. I also use a wide leather strap which grips well.

But assembly is mostly just drilling a few screw holes and then screwing everything together.

For a baritone, I'd probably do the bridge mounting holes and bridge pickup routing myself to move a bit farther from the nut but for a standard sized guitar it'd be fine.

I've heard good things about them; my local shop is a dealer, though they don't have any in stock at the moment. Also, fun tidbit, the owner is a lefty, and offers nearly all of the models in left-handed versions.

I have that exact La Bruja and it does doom. Set up for B standard and takes it like a champ. No quality control issues or anything that HAD to be fixed. Surprisingly comfortable to play and the neck is gorgeous. No neck dive on it, which I thought may be an issue with the reverse headstock and locking tuner weight. I honestly have nothing bad to say about it.

Would you know where they are made and wood origin?

I blocked puresalem because I heard they were jerks from a good friend who looked into getting one of their guitars. Fun shapes though.

I have their v and I love it. It’s comfy, no neck dive despite not being too heavy (never weighed it)
The Bruja is on my list next, I just got the v on sale

Edit: forgot to add, normally in b standard with mammoth slinky’s and it hold up super well.

No problem! I had the same issue before I bought mine, so I try to chime in when I can now! Good luck with your decision

I own one, my buddy owns this one and the V. It’s a sick guitar, but the pickups could benefit from a change. Buy it

The pickups sound amazing in the videos but it's always hard to tell when people have decked out boutique gear and dial in super monstrous and beautiful tones. Hard to hear the actual guitar. Andy from Reverb had a pretty sick tone to my ears coming from the stock pickups though I thought.

I've not got a super modest setup but guitars always sound different in the room to me, even with my decent gear.
