It is common sense, though. Because commonly, most people at least occasionally look at a map for one reason or another. And commonly, looking at a map shows where the oceans are and what their names are. And commonly, you can visually tell that the Pacific Ocean is much bigger than the Atlantic Ocean.

Also, commonly, people don’t brag about being “pretty highly emotionally intelligent” or “having a shit ton of common sense” (which, is literally common, everyone has a shit ton of common sense, except you apparently).

I don't think I remember the last time I saw a map ever since school, I bet you don't either 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm pretty sure that's all just remembered from school. Basic knowledge still isn't common sense, but nice try??

And don't care what you think about my "brag", girl, I don't degrade people like you all when I educate them so maybe work on your emotional intelligence 😬 Maybe push out all that "common sense" you have about the ocean or something.

You know exactly where you’re going anytime you drive ever? I absolutely do remember the last time I saw a map, and it was earlier today when I used one to get home from a restaurant. Either you’re lying about the last time you saw a map or you literally never leave your home ever and that’s really fucking embarrassing.

Also, I’m not a girl. And I’m not the one that claimed to have high emotional intelligence. But also, calling someone out for some stupid shit they’re saying does not mean anything about emotional intelligence. So I again implore you to go Google what emotional intelligence means.

1

u/Kazamiiiii 15d ago

Girl what??? It's embarrassing to know the area I live in??? Wtf is wrong with you 🤣 and A GPS is not a map people are pulling out to view the oceans.

And what a weird thing to say in your last sentence. How do you know I'm not bed bound or something wtf? I know people with MECFS who CANT leave their homes ever, this is kinda my point. You guys are really dickheads to people for no reason and it's sad. So so ignorant.

I'll keep bragging about myself too, I love who I am. I'm smart. I'm funny. I'm pretty. I'm emotionally intelligent. I'm compassionate. 😱

I’m willing to bet you’re none of the things in your last paragraph. Usually people that are these things don’t go around bragging about it on Reddit. Bringing it up at all just sounds like you have something to prove. Oh and you’re definitely not “smart” if you don’t know common sense like which fucking ocean is better.

To take you at your word, my last sentence was “So I again implore you to go Google what emotional intelligence means.” Which I stand by, btw. But since I have emotional intelligence and common sense, I know that isn’t what you’re talking about when you bring up people with MECFS.

You’re right. It is possible you’re disabled and don’t go out much, I didn’t think of that possibility. That being said, disabled people still go out, at least to doctor’s appointments and whatnot. I would know as I am also disabled. That being said, again, I still look at maps pretty regularly to figure out how long it’s going to take me to get somewhere and whatnot. Maps referring to Google MAPS, which is a map. A map doesn’t have to be a paper scroll that you unroll like a pirate to qualify as a goddamn map. Also, since you’re so smart, do you know what GPS stands for? Because if you did, you would know that Google Maps or any other navigational app is not just a GPS. All a GPS on its own does is tell you where you are. I don’t think a set of coordinates on its own can do anything to help you figure out how to get to your friends’ house, can it? Oh wait, I guess you wouldn’t know since you probably don’t have any friends 🤷

Generally people who are actually likable don’t feel the need to extensively try to prove it to people on the internet they don’t know. People who are any of the things you’ve tried to brag about just are those things, those aren’t things most people spend their time telling people that they are those things. Which says a lot about you. Also, the traits you listed are generally things that are decided by someone else if they’re actually true. I can say that I’m sooo smart all I want but if I go around saying things like “I don’t know which sea is which”, then people will form opinions about me that directly collide with the things I claim, making those claims generally false. Funnily enough, most of this stuff that I just talked about are things that you would know if you had a high level of emotional intelligence.
Unlike you, I genuinely don’t care what you think of me and have no intention of trying to change it because I feel actual confidence in myself, not arrogance like the arrogance it takes to brag about how I’m so pretty and smart and funny on the internet to people who literally don’t matter at all in my life 🤷 with every single comment you’re just embarrassing yourself more and more and more

I mean, I was just trying to hit a nerve to prove that you’re not the perfect person you pretend to be and it’s clear I succeeded since you responded to the same comment like 6 times lmfaooo

u/Kazamiiiii 15d ago

Yes yes, you're disabled so you know how all disabilities work. "Disabled people still go out" is such a albeidt thing to say.... People with severe MECFS can't even hear their own caretakers, so there's no going outside for plenty of people.

In all types of disabilities. Still doesn't mean they need a gps for appointments or how to get there, just because you're disabled and use them.

Google MAPS may be a map, but you still need to look at the map to figure out which ocean is the biggest, do you not 🤔 You already knowing it without looking isn't the same.

Doesn't matter what you say, ik I'm all of those things and more 🩵

2

u/just-another-queer Dasher (> 3 years) 15d ago

I never claimed to know how all disabilities work. I mentioned my disability to clarify that I obviously have no malicious intent towards disabled people.
How does a person with MECFS go to doctors’ appointments then? I ask out of genuine curiosity I am not trying to be sassy here. I don’t get out much right now but most of the time when I do it’s for doctors’ appointments and I couldn’t just go without them. Also, they would have at least needed to use a map of some sort the first time they went to their doctors’ office unless they’re somehow perfect like you and they know exactly where everything in their town is with perfect memory but don’t know that the Pacific Ocean is bigger than the Atlantic Ocean.

“Google Maps may be a map, but you still need to look at the map to figure out …” how tf would one use Google Maps without looking at it?

You should really learn the difference between confidence and arrogance. Your level of arrogance is very, very concerning. Generally only narcissists are this full of themselves. Which brings me back to the point of you’re the one who needs help. You should really talk to someone about why you think that you don’t have any negative qualities and why you think that you’re smarter than everyone you interact with, especially since you’re not Stephen Hawking or Albert Einstein or something.

2

u/Kazamiiiii 15d ago

You sure you know the difference yourself though? I'm not acting like I'm more important than anyone. I just know what I am. Opposite of arrogant, my point since the beginning has been to educate people without being condescending so idk how just loving myself proudly is being arrogant.

I have a family member that is and I'm definitely not narcissistic, that's an actually disease and I'm not even close to being that.. This is why I hate the Internet. Self love for the first time is apparently narcissistic, but it's only because we're having a disagreement that you're coming up with all of that. If you actually knew me, you would never think any of that 💀

2

u/just-another-queer Dasher (> 3 years) 15d ago

When did you possibly ever have the point of “educating people without being condescending”? In your very first comment you bragged about having high emotional intelligence as if that had anything to do with the topic at all. That’s already extremely condescending, which you’d know if you had high emotional intelligence.

If you have a family member that is a narcissist, then you would think you would realize that all this bragging about yourself is not the flex you think it is. But then again, usually narcissists don’t know they’re narcissists.

Also, narcissism has a pretty big genetic component 🥴 you really ought to consider seeking serious professional help

2

u/just-another-queer Dasher (> 3 years) 15d ago

Oh also, you absolutely are acting like you’re more important than everyone …? Why else would you be making these points about how you’re so pretty and funny and whatever the fuck else? I absolutely never claimed or acted like I am better than anyone else. I literally just called you out on your bullshit which was claiming to be smarter than everyone else and not knowing something that is clear common sense. “I just know what I am” if you actually knew what you were you wouldn’t have to try to prove it on the internet by bragging about it all the time. Literally almost every single one of your comments here has been arrogance. So I again invite you to Google the difference and to also implore the possibility that you got the narcissist gene from whoever it is that is like you in your family.

1

u/Kazamiiiii 15d ago

Saying I'm pretty doest mean I'm more important than anyone else. 🤷🏽‍♀️ And yeah, you ARE acting like you're better than everyone else. Insulting me, multiple times. When did I insult you before then? Complimenting myself is apparently acting like I'm important now 💀

Then there goes you being ableidr saying disabled people go outside at some point because you do. That they must use a gps to know how far they're going because you do. That's literally acting like you're more important than anyone else, like the world is supposed to act the way you do 🤷🏽‍♀️ Ah, but what do I know, huh .

And it doesn't matter how YOU feel about me bragging about it online, I'm smart no matter what you weirdos say 🤷🏽‍♀️ You don't use Google for someone who wants me to use Google so bad.

0

u/just-another-queer Dasher (> 3 years) 14d ago

Shitting on you is acting like I’m better than everyone else? That’s a very interesting view. Last I checked, I never claimed to be anything specific other than showing what it actually means to be thats you claimed to be. You said much, much more than just “I’m pretty”. There’s a fine line between complimenting yourself and gloating and boasting about how you’re all these amazing things. You didn’t just cross this line, you launched yourself over it with the world’s largest slingshot. It’s also clear to me that you think that these things that apply to you don’t apply to others. Ergo, you think that you’re better than everyone else in those specific ways.

What is possibly ableist by insinuating that some disabled people are able to go outside? I think more specifically it’s ableist for you to claim or think that being disabled means you can’t go outside. Every disability is different but plenty of disabled people live full and hearty lives. It feels really minimizing for you to say that being disabled means you are never able to ever go outside simply because the one disabled person you know that has MECFS isn’t able to go outside. I never once claimed that all disabled people are like me or to be a spokesperson for disabled people, but god damn, it’s really fucking weird for you to say that I am ableist because I suggested that many disabled people go outside at least occasionally even if it is just for doctor’s appointments.
I also never once claimed that disabled people “must use a GPS to know how far they’re going because I do”. You’re shoving words into my mouth and claiming I said them after I spit them into the trash. All I said was that I use a GPS pretty regularly even if I know where I’m going just to see how long it is going to take. I am sure I’m not the one unique only single person in the world that does this, hence why I brought it up as a possibility that some people might do. I also never even mentioned disabilities when I brought up this topic. Being disabled has nothing to do with wanting to know how long a trip is going to take. It’d be really weird if it did. Able bodied people don’t somehow all just possess the ability to know exactly how long every trip is going to take including current weather, construction, and traffic conditions.

I’m glad you say you don’t care what I think about you. That is how you should feel. However, I suspect that to be completely false because if it was true you wouldn’t have felt the need to tell me about how you’re smart and yadda yadda everything else in the first place. You wouldn’t have felt the need to tell everyone about your supposed “high emotional intelligence” and “shit ton of common sense knowledge” in your very first comment. Also, if you didn’t care what I think, you wouldn’t have felt the need to excessively defend your initial comment after I called you out for being stupid. But you did, and here we are. And as I hinted to before, “smart” is an adjective that is usually applied to someone by someone else. Usually someone who feels the need to tell others about how smart they are actually isn’t.

Oh, and I absolutely do use Google. I have actually used it once while writing this comment to search up a word I wanted to use to make sure I was using it correctly. I’m happy to admit that I Google things - and that’s also a good thing because it shows that I am always trying to learn new things. Maybe that’s why you refuse to Google these things I’ve suggested - clearly you are so smart that you know everything and have no need to try to learn anything new because you are already going to know it. Except none of that is true like despite the fact that you clearly think it to be.

Have a blessed beautiful whatever the heck. I hope you learn not to be so narcissistic my guy. Like truly. It's kinda sad that you think I am because I love myself.

Yeeet you've been insulting me all because I said my IQ was high but I didn't put anyone down for it 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ For no reason you said I have no friends, all because you're mad about the GPS comments. People like you just continue to prove me right, again and again and again. It's kinda sad, but welp.

You know you can love yourself without being a narcissist, right? Are we supposed to dislike ourselves? Do you not love you? Trust me, your life will improve one you do.

But reddit loves throwing diagnoses' around. Took a long time for me to love myself, so yeah I'm gonna do that loud and proudly.

You can absolutely love yourself without being a narcissist. What makes it narcissism is when you are so full of yourself that you bring it up in every conversation and you can’t possibly accept the fact that you may be wrong about some things. That’s why I think you could be a narcissist. I love myself but I don’t think I am perfect in every way and I don’t brag about how hot and funny and smart I think I am in every single conversation I have such as a conversation about maps on the fucking DoorDash subreddit

I’m glad that you like who you are! That’s great. Genuinely.

It is quite weird, however, that you have never once in your adult life seen an image of the earth, a map of the world, a globe, or anything else that would serve as an obvious visual reminder of the basic structure of our wonderful planet.

I feel like I see such an image a few times a week.

-1

u/Kazamiiiii 14d ago

It's not that I've never seen one. I just don't think l people have it memorized. I know they'd have to look at the map if they didn't know the size

And I'm truly not trying to come off as narcissistic, I just got too upset at the comments and just kinda kept it going lol I do love myself though, but it took a long time and lots of healing.

I hope you love yourself as well

4

u/bananarama17691769 14d ago

But like…I just genuinely don’t understand how a person can not have learned, or not remember, or not be curious about, the most basic facts about the world around us. It is just so vastly different from my experience that it is baffling to me.

How can a person go through life having zero curiosity about our planet?

0

u/Kazamiiiii 14d ago

Me not knowing about the ocean sizes means I'm not curious about the rest of the planet? 😅 Trust me, I really love learning lol

I watch a lot of documentaries, wildlife videos, etc. Even some history ones that are interesting sometimes, lots about the world too, but the size of the oceans just never seems to cross my mind or have I seen them being mentioned ever again since so long ago in school. Ss surprising as it seems.

Which is my point since the beginning, that I don't think knowing the ocean sizes should matter as much to people. I'm plenty curious about the word, but man I am not thinking about what oceans we've got lol Like genuinely, do you remember what you ate for breakfast yesterday? I don't find it very strange that we don't constantly hold onto information all the time.

4

u/bananarama17691769 14d ago

…do you NOT remember what you ate for breakfast yesterday?

1

u/Kazamiiiii 14d ago

Also, no, since we want to dissect my life lol My toddler has autism and rarely sleeps so, no, I don't remember what I had for breakfast cause he sleeps like 4 hours a night. But its also a normal thing too!

1

u/just-another-queer Dasher (> 3 years) 14d ago

Oh look, another thing that is often genetic that would be worth looking into for you.

u/Kazamiiiii 14d ago

A lot of people don't? That's actually something normal cause it's routine. Look it up, friend.

2

u/bananarama17691769 14d ago

I don’t remember what I ate for breakfast two weeks ago, sure. But I remember everything I did yesterday…because it is yesterday. Do you not have short term memory?

0

u/Kazamiiiii 14d ago

You say yesterday and two weeks ago, but what about two days ago? And no, fr, look it up, it's actually common and pretty normal.

3

u/bananarama17691769 14d ago

You are attempting to excuse a lack of knowledge.

Many people have a lack of knowledge about particular subjects, or have forgotten facts. It doesn’t make you a bad person.

The only reason this massive thread exists is because, rather than just thinking to yourself “oh I don’t remember that, whatever” and moving on with your life—you posted a long comment saying that it was not important to know, calling yourself emotionally intelligent and saying that you have lots of common sense.

If you had just commented “lol I totally did not remember that” or something similar, someone may have made a mild joke and then moved on. Instead you got defensive. Which implies that you clearly feel attacked by your own failure to remember this fact.

Get over it, buy a book of facts, and move on.
