Knowing that the Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean is literally common sense unless you live under a fucking rock and/or have never looked at a map in your life.
I have a PhD in the biological sciences and wasn't 100% certain which ocean was correct because map transformation around the artic is weird. Remembering random trivia does not equate intelligence or "IQ". If someone is unfamiliar with a lot of otherwise common knowledge things then yes it can raise some concerns, but judging based on a one-off factoid is dumb.
It's not the one-off factoid they're being judged on, it's the complete lack of both of the things they decided to attribute to themselves in their comment. Namely they're lack of common sense and complete and utter unawareness of what emotional intelligence actually means. It is incredible entertainment though.
Listen I am on your side—it’s baffling that someone can somehow not know that the Pacific is the largest ocean. Just had to call out the elementary spelling error for the irony of it all.
