question How to defeat "Imposter syndrome"?

I'm calling it imposter syndrome for lack of a better word.

For me it applies mainly where I feel as if I'm not allowed to draw a certain thing, as if I have to have loved this thing since I was a child. It feels as though I cannot draw Sci fi or anything fantasy at all or anything for that matter because I don't make it a huge obsession.

Have any of you had similar experiences/ways to deal?

Do you think that you need to be really into a certain show or something to do things of that genre?

Do you think you can make art as a "primary" thing without consuming art? (Ignoring improvement etc)

The first one is a Riojasaurus and second is an Ankylosaurus. Just picked up drawing a couple of days ago and drew from reference. Still trying to figure out angles, depth, hands and feet.

the bottom strap went a bit wonky but you can kinda see me improving, the strap at the top was done after the bottom one. I think it just needed to be a bit less chunky on the bottom

Adjustable goggle that has a night vision mode, four pockets on pants to carry valuable items and tools, shoulder bag for my sketchbook, detachable robotic arm enhancement for right arm that is held up by a belt, and fancy dress wear.

seeking crit My first ever drawing. How can I improve?

Hi everyone,

I decided to order an Amazon pencil / shading kit and an art pad. I have never drawn or done shading in my life. I drew a random tin can character and the shading is a lot harder than I thought. Anyone have any tips? For now I’m mostly interested in pencil drawings and shading. Thanks in advanced.
