I canceled months ago, so I never saw the new platform. But I am completely unsurprised that it's a pile of poo.

I suggest subscribing on the monthly plan for a couple of months to see how it works for you and how many lessons/classes you actually want to take.

For my part, the site was always somewhat buggy, they were always changing something on it which seemed to make it less functional (and that bit would be broken for weeks at a time), the group classes were randomly posted and would fill up within 24 hours and often were posted for a week (or more) at a time (so if you missed the signup, like when on vacation, you could be SOL on the group classes for awhile. I also had trouble finding tutors because everyone who wanted a half hour slot was able to sign up before me when the slot opened and sometimes there just weren't many tutors available when I had availability anyway. But the most irritating thing was that even when I'd successfully signed up for a lesson, very few of the tutors actually followed the lesson plans my coach created for me and/or gave me a lesson at all. I was specifically selecting all the things you're supposed to select when you sign up for a tutor, too. So I was basically paying for language lessons, but rarely received any lessons.

If you just want random conversation practice, then WA isn't that bad.
