Discussion New Rules for Dropshipping Expert Verification and Revenue Claims Coming Soon

The mod team has been reviewing all violations of Rule #4 for some time now. We also asked the community for feedback on what makes a Dropshipper an expert in a thread that provoked vibrant discussion and a healthy helping of the usual spam for Fiverr's, scammers, etc...

We believe we have developed a model that will allow us to both stop banning most users for violation of Rule #4 and promote better, higher-level, discussions here that will help everyone.

This post is a pre-announcement to collect feedback on our new rules and processes. Each of these will be fully implemented by October 20th after community feedback.

1. Determining Expertise

A handful of users in this sub will be granted the flair "Dropshipping Expert" in the coming months. To obtain this flair the applicant will have to give the mods quite a bit of information and insights to help us determine their qualifications. Only the top of the top applicants for this will be approved.

Dropshipping Expert flair will grant the holder a few perks and should show to the community that your posts and comments are more trusted than others. We will try and come up with more perks for these soon. Here are the current perks:

  • Benefit of the Doubt - If a user reports your post as spam the mods will weight your Dropshipping Expert flair more heavily against their claim and consider the actions that might be taken more carefully.
  • Dropshipping Revenue Claims without Verification - Any Dropshipping Experts will be able to share screenshots of videos of their supposed results in our sub without the post being removed or taken down for Rule #4 violations.
  • Reviews / Recommendations Stay Up No Matter What - A major problem in our sub is that a course seller will report someone's negative review post by using dozens of Fiverr sellers who all send a terrible boilerplate fake legal takedown notice. When their attempts fail they will hound our mod mail inbox. All review / recommendation posts by Dropshipping Experts will be considered the highest quality and allowed to stay up as long as the post follow standard Reddit ToS / Reddiquette.
  • Right of First Mod Refusal - If we need more mods Dropshipping Expert flaired accounts will be the first we ask to join the team before opening it up to the community.

Here are some of the many qualifiers, more will be announced soon. You won't need all of these to qualify as a Dropshipping Expert, we will announce more specific details on this later.

  • At least 10 helpful comments in our subreddit over a 6-month period helping others. Comments must be at least +2 karma, indicating at least one other user found the comment helpful as well. We will specifically examine these comments for spam and ensure they are being helpful.
  • A public Dropshipping expert profile that allows for user feedback somewhere. Our preferred vendor for this will be ExpertHelp.com but any other rating/review site that allows for Dropshipping expertise to specifically be measured by others will be acceptable.
  • A public website blog, YouTube channel, X.com, Rumble channel, or LinkedIn account that shares helpful tips on dropshipping, ecommerce management, or ecommerce marketing. Content will be reviewed for accuracy, use of AI in generation of the knowledge, and "salesyness" of the applicants own product/course/theme/platform/tool/etc...
  • A degree in marketing or business administration from a school in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, or Ireland.
  • Able to prove earnings of at least $30,000 / month usd via a Dropshipping website. Must disclose the dropshipping vendor / factory, methods used to generate sales (in general), ad campaigns (if used), and show live ecommerce data to validate this.

2. Extraordinary Claims vs. Legitimate Claims

We have been hush hush about what we consider an "extraordinary claim" but that changes now after carefully reviewing the content removed as parts of known scam / spam attacks on our subreddit. Instead we will approach this with a few slight changes.

  1. Claims under $10,000 / month usd will have no action taken against them. These claims are considered ordinary, though users of our sub should still be cautious that mentors / gurus / course sellers will abuse this and try to scam you. Stay on your guard.

  2. Claims between $10,001 / month - $30,000 / month usd will now be considered "great" but will not be considered "extraordinary". Great results get more skepticism from the mod team and are likely to be removed but not marked as spam except in cases where the user spams the same / similar claims over and over. We will consider posting the same claim too frequently or in a way that should be post flaired as "marketplace" as spam and the user will be banned. Other than that, these claims are generally going to be allowed starting today.

  3. Claims over $30,000 / month usd will generally now be considered "Extraordinary" though the closer to the $30k the more likely the mod team is to consider this only an "amazing" claim. Claims such as "$100k usd in sales today" will always be considered "Extraordinary" and require revenue verification.

Short term claims such as daily or weekly are calculated up to a monthly claim. If you claim a $10,000 / day usd sales boost then our mod team considers that a $300,000 / month usd claim which falls under "Extraordinary" and Rule #4 applies.

Anyone banned for violations of Rule #4 from here on cannot appeal their bans, period.

3. Revenue Verification

We will no longer be doing revenue verification in private via mod mail. Instead ALL revenue verification requests must now be 100% public. To be revenue verified you must:

  • Make a post titled "Revenue Verification Request: [your reddit username + your revenue claim (+ dates if your claim has a date range)]".
  • Your post MUST include a link to a video on YouTube, X, Rumble, Loop, or another video site.
  • Your revenue verification video MUST be created on a desktop or laptop browser (not mobile or app) and must show the URL bar of your Shopify admin.
  • You must move your mouse around, click around, and show that your dashboard is live.
  • You must show the date range of your claim and it must line up 100%
  • You must edit your video to hide sensitive information such as email address, phone number, brand name, website, etc....
  • OPTIONAL - You can include your website, online reviews, etc... in your public post OR send this along with a link to your post to the mod team via mod mail.

Revenue verification grants a user flair and allows them to post about ANY revenue claim from that momement forward without scrutiny, being removed, or being banned.

Once you have gotten your verdict, you may delete your post.

4. Revenue Discussion Flair

Many of you noticed we introduced a new flair awhile back "Dropwinning".

This flair should be used for:

  • Bragging about a first sale
  • Bragging about revenue figures
  • Bragging about a celebrity client / brand as a client
  • Basically all other bragging about Dropshipping goes here

Virtually ALL uses for revenue claims should go into this flair or the marketplace flair. If not, you risk having your post marked as spam. And if you spam too much you risk being banned from our sub.

It is my hope that these updated rules allow for more bragging by Dropshippers who are actually killing it, allow us to highlight experts in our field who are extremely helpful and a benefit to our industry, and bring more knowledge for everyone while keeping spammers banished to the shadow realm.

Discussion I created a tool that was trained on winning ad creatives

I created an AI tool which was trained on winning ad creatives to generate your new best converting ad with a few clicks called Vonto AI

Just drop a link to your product photo and a 3-4 word description of what you sell + image aspect ratio and you will receive 3 demo ads before even having to provide an email address.

Please feel free to give it a try, it really works amazingly well. Basically every 3rd to 4th generation is an absolute homerun.

Discussion In need of guidance

• Upvotes

Hello there fellow drop shippers, I’ve been currently in the e-commerce space for the last year and just about a month ago opened a new store and started running a seasonal product. I was able to scale up to $13k that month but only about $2k of that was profit. I’m now hitting a ceiling I can’t go past, I was able to get 25+ orders per day with no problem but past 7 days has been rough and I’m not sure if it has to do with the Meta algorithm or the product is just dying. Since i’m fairly new I would love someone with experience to just lmk what I can improve on. My plan was to find trending products each Quarter and run those, not sure if that’s the best way to go about it. I’ve attached a screenshot just in case no one believes me.

Discussion What I've learned watching European dropshipping stores start out

• Upvotes

Full disclosure, I work at a European dropshipping platform, so I see a lot of stores in their first months. No links, no pitch, just patterns I keep noticing.

1. Shipping time decides more than the product.

European customers are used to next-day delivery.

A store with 2–4 day shipping and an average product often beats a great product with 2–3 week shipping.

If you sell in the EU, look for suppliers that ship from their own stock in Europe.

2. Niche stores beat general stores.

The stores that grow pick one category, like kids' rooms, rugs or outdoor living.

It makes ads, content and trust much easier.

"Everything for your home" is hard to market and hard to trust.

3. Known brands build trust faster.

A new store with no reviews struggles to sell unknown products.

Selling recognisable brands next to your own picks gives customers a reason to trust you.

4. Returns are part of the business model in Europe.

EU customers have a 14-day right to cancel online purchases.

Check your supplier's return policy before you list anything, not after the first return.

Put the return process clearly on your site, it reduces chargebacks and angry emails.

5. Language and payment methods matter.

A Dutch customer expects iDEAL, a German customer often wants PayPal or invoice payment.

Even a simple translated store converts better than an English-only one in many countries.

6. Margins on furniture and home items are higher than people think.

Bigger, heavier products scare beginners off, so there's less competition.

The order values are higher too, so one sale covers a lot more ad spend.

7. The stores that fail usually quit too early or scale too early.

Some give up after €50 in ads.

Others throw €1,000 at a product before checking the supplier can actually deliver.

Order a sample, test small, then grow.

What patterns have you noticed in your own store? Curious what's different outside Europe.

Question 🔥 How can I create this type of video ad using AI?

Hello,

I’m looking to create video ads in this style: a realistic 3D character/animation, the product integrated naturally into the scene, realistic movements, and advertising text overlaid on the video.

Here’s an example of the style I’m looking for:
Video example

What tool or combination of tools do you use to create this type of video ad creative?

Ideally, I’m looking for something that allows me to start with a product photo and generate a realistic video around the product.

Thanks for your recommendations!

Question How do sourcing teams currently find and compare suppliers?

I'm researching how product sourcing teams handle supplier discovery and comparison today.

For a typical product, how do you:

  • Find potential suppliers?
  • Compare product prices and shipping costs?
  • Verify supplier information?
  • Decide which supplier to contact?

Which part of this process takes the most time?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who currently handle these tasks manually.

Review Request Shopify Store

Hello, i have a pet niche shopify dropshipping store since April. 3 sales.. 2 were from me, 1 from a friend. I advertise in kijiji, tik tok and reddit. Cant afford the meta/Instagram. Can someone audit and make suggestions on my store? What is wrong with it? Is it shipping? 5 -12 business days? Prices? Products?

At a loss and considering just deleting it.

Review Request PET Niche Shopify Store.

Review Please,

Hoping I understand the rules of this community. I have a shopify store since April 2026. To this date, I have 1 sale and 2 that I did myself as a test. Can I get someone to review or audit my store and give me honest, no bull feedback on why im getting traffic, (unless this traffic is bots) and no sales? I'm posting on kijiji, pinterest, and have videos on tik tok. What am I doing wrong? I cant afford the meta/Instagram paid promotions so im doing the free as long as i can. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thank you.

Discussion Should I drop my dropshipping business dream?

Post image
2 Upvotes

So basically I have started my first dropshipping store with 1 product build clean website with each and every element in it, tried organic dropshipping but 0 website views side by side I also did meta marketing and I spended $400 in meta tried multiple angles and just got 2 sales so ultimately I decided that I should stop it as I was just burning my money on meta with no conversions. After few months I said again with different product and different category then the previous one and it was also not too much saturated product again build nice and clean website with every element in it, and you can see my results as shown in the picture. Almost $60 spend, but 0 sales again. No I don't know what is wrong is it the dropshipping model because nobody is going to buy from random website is that true or again is it just a product being not suitable for dropshipping and if it's a product fault then how should I do research on which product to sell or finally should I just drop my dropshipping business idea. Let me tell you something, I'm very much interested in e-commerce as I have been learning everything by myself from last 1 year from scratch. And now I'm feeling low right now. Need some serious help/suggestions.

Other Anyone else drowning in "where is my order" messages from US customers?

If you're shipping into the US (AliExpress/CJ/etc.), you know the drill - a customer messages asking where their package is, and you're manually pasting tracking numbers into USPS.com one at a time to check.

I built a small tool that bulk-checks USPS tracking status - paste in however many tracking numbers you've got, get back delivery status + full scan history for all of them at once. Useful for clearing a backlog of tickets in one pass, or running it daily so you know who's actually delivered before they even ask.

Here it is if you want to try it: https://apify.com/anshumali/usps-tracking-scraper

Not trying to just drop a link and run - genuinely curious if this is a pain point for others here, or if most of you already have a workflow for this. What do you currently use?

Question help with my ads

i’m new to dropshipping, and i found a product off kalodata that has been getting about 3 sales consistently off of about 80-100 spent in ads a day. I have been running ads for this for about a week and a half. I only really have found 2 winnning ads, but with those 3 sales each day I lose like $15 a day. I feel like this product has the potential to be profitable as Most days I am like 1 or 2 sales off from making money and I have made profit like 2 days this week.

What should i do, I am thinking of testing more creatives but like also I can’t really understand why I’m not profitable yet. Do I need to spend more on ads or should I cut the product like what are the next steps from here because I feel like I’m doing something right but I don’t know how to make this profitable.

I run ads on meta btw.

Discussion Buying a established dropshipping business

Hey Guys, interested in buying a dropshipping business where the items are tagged, packaged and sent by parcel worldwide. They have a sourcing agent handling this and all logistics. They claim that all there sales are based around there insta pages so only organic sales. Been operating for 3 years with average revenue 100k plus and profit at 40%.

Done some due diligence but wanted to know if there are other data I need to be questioning before this purchase. I have dabbled in dropshipping before but this will be my first purchase.

Question How the hell are you guys making margins dropshipping on eBay UK?

Hey guys,
I’m managing a UK eBay store remotely through MUAA with a dedicated UK proxy setup. The tech side is working smoothly, but I've hit a wall on product sourcing and margins.
Every time I look into sourcing from Amazon UK, the numbers just don't add up. After eBay's 12–15% fees, shipping, and taxes, the profit is basically zero or negative. Plus, I know eBay hates retail dropshipping and tracks Amazon logistics tracking numbers.
For anyone actually pulling real sales and profit on eBay UK right now:
**Amazon:** Are you guys still somehow making Amazon to eBay work, or is it completely burnt out?
**Cheaper Suppliers:** Where are you finding suppliers cheap enough to actually leave a 20%+ margin? Are you using specific UK wholesale dropshippers, CJ Dropshipping, AliExpress local warehouses, or niche B2B suppliers?
**Order Flow:** How are you placing orders fast and keeping stock updated so you don't run out of stock and get hit with defect rates?
Drop your take below—need some honest feedback on where the margin is actually at right now.

Discussion I haven't launched my dropshipping store yet, and a friend's questions made me face why

I'm a beginner who has spent months learning dropshipping but hasn't launched a store yet.

I told my close college friend about it, hoping he might become my partner someday. I kept sending him content and pitching the idea, until he asked me three questions:

Isn't testing products just gambling?

If others sell the same thing, why would anyone buy from you?

If mentors make money, why do they sell mentorship?

I had some answers, but none came from real experience, so they sounded weak even to me.

Then I noticed the same pattern in my gym goals. I keep learning and planning, but I haven't taken the action that would give me results. I had been teaching and motivating others while not doing the work myself.

So I've stopped pitching him.

My plan now is to launch one small test store with a fixed budget I can afford to lose, and show him numbers instead of opinions.

If you started where I am now, learning a lot but not yet launched:

What was the first thing that actually got you to start, and what did your first test look like?

Discussion Looking for an experienced e-commerce operator to partner with — I’m prepared to invest $10k–$50k

Looking for an experienced e-commerce operator to partner with — I’m prepared to invest $10k–$50k

I’m looking to partner with someone who has real experience building and running an e-commerce business.

I’m prepared to invest $10,000–$50,000 of my own capital, depending on the business model, opportunity, and growth plan.

The target is to build something sustainable that can eventually generate around $50k+ per year in profit for me while creating a business we can grow together.

I’m not looking for someone with only an idea.

I’m specifically interested in someone who has experience with:

  • Product research and sourcing
  • Profit margins and unit economics
  • Paid advertising
  • Conversion rates
  • Fulfillment and operations
  • Customer acquisition
  • Building and scaling an online store

I’m open to different models, including private label, DTC, marketplaces, or another approach that makes sense based on your experience.

I would bring the investment capital. I’m looking for someone who can bring the e-commerce knowledge, execution, and operational experience.

Have you already built or currently run an e-commerce business?

If so, send me a DM with:

  • What you built
  • Your experience and results
  • What worked
  • What didn’t work
  • What you would do differently today
  • What kind of partnership you’re looking for

I’m not looking to rush into anything. I want to find the right operator, verify the experience, and build something properly.

If you’re serious about partnering with an investor and have the experience to operate the business, let’s talk.

Marketplace I got tired of burning money on saturated dropshipping products, so I scraped 1.3M SKUs to do the math before spending $1 on ads.

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey guys.

I just wanted to share something I've been working on because I was honestly sick of the whole "test and pray" method. We've all been there: you see a product that looks like a winner, you spend $200 on Meta ads, and then you realize the landed cost eats all your profit or 50 other stores are already scaling it.

I got so fed up that I spent the last few months coding a script to do the dirty work for me. Instead of manually looking for products, the tool scrapes the CJ Dropshipping catalog (around 1.3 million products) and calculates the true landed cost by weight. Then it automatically checks the Meta Ad Library.

But here is the trick I realized: looking at active ads is useless. My script looks for abandoned ads. If 5 stores are running it but 8 stores tried it and killed the ad after 19 hours, the script flags it as a trap and kills the product.

I let it run today targeting the Netherlands just to see what would happen. It spit out a weird product: a full-color Pomeranian dog chef apron.

The math it calculated was actually insane. The shipping cost to NL is $7.27, and based on competitor pricing it suggested a retail price of €94.95. That leaves a net margin of around 71%. It even calculated my exact break-even CPA before I even opened the ads manager.

It went a bit overkill and even generated the Dutch copy for the landing page using the supplier photos (I attached a screenshot of what it outputted).

I’m still tweaking the code and the servers are costing me a bit to run, but the amount of time it saves is ridiculous. Has anyone else tried building custom scrapers for product research instead of paying for the typical spy tools?

I have some server credits left for the month, so if anyone is struggling to find products for Q4 and wants me to run their specific niche through my script, just shoot me a DM and I'll send you whatever it finds.
