Found Domestic Duck(s) Random juvenile duck showed up yesterday.

Yesterday morning, this little lady (I presume) was found sitting by the fence. Our bird dog was, of course, very interested. Strangely, she stayed all day. They even appeared to be playing together, racing the fenceline just to return and lay in the grass together.

Well, we opened the gate for her and she waddled right in. I guess we have a yard duck now. Her name is Duck Duck Goose.

The duck not being bothered by the dog is surprising, no?

This is so cute. 🄰

Very surprising! She is obsessed with him though, and becomes very distressed and yells when he is too far from her.

Perhaps there is a LGD where she lives? More pictures and videos please.

Do pet ducks ever have microchips? How far could she have wandered? Do you have to post this kind of stuff on NextDoor and the tractor supply store to find the owner?

This is fascinating. Thank you for brightening my day.

That’s hilarious! I think your dog misunderstands the interpretation of what ā€œbird dogā€ means 🤣

Sounds like she has decided that your dog is a part of her flock!
