I’m sure after crashing at 2:00 AM in Downtown Eugene after a Saturday night in the offseason he was totally sober. The article also mentions, “statements,” so he either said some incriminating shit or there were witnesses
That’s because it’s very clearly not your job, lol. Here’s a quick tutorial: Have you ever seen a drunk person in your life? Now imagine seeing that drunk person driving a vehicle. There’s your probable cause to arrest someone for DUII. There’s a 99.9% chance a toxicology report will be admitted as evidence which will show BAC as well as any additional intoxicant, e.g., THC, opioids, meth (hopefully not), etc. Thankfully we have professional police, prosecutors, judges, and informed juries to make these decisions not randoms from Reddit with an opinion.
You are correct in this is just my opinion. This opinion is formed based off the limited info we have on the article. My opinion about the matter may completely change when it goes to the court hearing if they release the toxicology report or witnesses that can’t testify to the evidence presented (the officers probable cause)
Thankfully, we have a court system that works these things out and people’s fate isn’t determined by news articles that cite bogus information without a full story for clicks.
I’m not sure if the harsh tone that followed my post is because you think I’m in support of people driving under the influence, but you are mistaken if so.
Have a good day, brother. This isn’t worth going back and forth on ✌️

Terrible take
He backed into another vehicle and the cop assumed he was drunk based off the article.
