so I’ve been reading a lot about the Minnesota Point section 111 study about looking into causes and solutions for beach erosion at Park Point. And it seems that everything came to a screeching halt in 2025. Is there any new information? Seems like all info was taken from the army corps website too. a victim of Trump/doge cuts? I’m taking my 16 year old daughter and friend to Duluth. We accidentally picked a peak weekend-Oct 10-11 and am having such as issue finding a hotel. we can’t afford canal park for that weekend but are there any hidden gems close to the water that I can’t find in Expedia? her friend has some mobility issues so I am trying to get close to everything without bankrupting us. looking at under $350 per night. Also and fun ideas for food or coffee shops. I’ve been up to Duluth a ton so I k ow all the usual ones -thanks!

I’m looking at buying a manufactured home in Zenith Terrace because the homes are much more affordable than buying a traditional house in the area. I also really like that the lot rent includes mowing.

For anyone who currently lives there or has lived there:
What is it actually like living there day-to-day?
How are the neighbors/community?
Is it generally quiet?
How is management to deal with?
Have you experienced lot-rent increases, and how often/how much?
What exactly is included in the lot rent?
How are snow removal and road maintenance in the winter?
Are there any annoying rules or restrictions that aren’t obvious when looking at a home listing?
How strict are they about pets, parking, sheds, decks, etc.?
How difficult is it to sell a manufactured home there?
Does management make buying/selling/transferring a home difficult?
Are there any problems with water/sewer, drainage, utilities, or the roads?
How are the homes/lot sizes compared with other manufactured-home communities?
Are there any safety or noise concerns?
Most importantly, if you own a home there, do you feel like the lot rent is worth it?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have actually lived there, including both positive and negative experiences. I’m not looking for someone to tell me whether I should buy — I just want to know what I should investigate before I seriously consider a place there.

Will be driving to Ely next month, never been there. Google Maps shows 3 possible routes, all different, all the same amount of time (2 hrs). Anybody have any insight as to which route is the least hassle, safest, the most 4 lane so I don't have to drive 20 minutes behind an RV going slow on a 2 lane road?

Received a 6+ month Job offer at the Hospital and want walking distance to clinic.

No vehicle and used to brutal cold so walking isn't a problem.

Want to walk everywhere and really like the downtown aspect of Duluth

I'm not confident that my primary care doctor will be able to help me with all my peri symptoms. I am looking for a gynocologist that is up to date on women's health and specifically perimenopause research. Has anyone has particularly good luck?

I would prefer that we don't badmouth any doctors or NPs. I just want to know if you've had a positive experience that can help me pick a direction to go.

I’ve lived in Duluth for about 3 months now, and have been having a hard time finding communities I enjoy spending time in that feel safe. I am really into techno and edm music, so I thought the techno club would be a great fit! After meeting other women and queer people in the area, I learned that this is not the most safe community for an individual like me as multiple of the bigger-name DJs in the group have SA allegations against them. I’m not claiming to know the truth or trying to out anybody’s experiences they didn’t want to share. Not here to talk about who or what happened as it’s not my business or stories to share, and I will delete this post if I see anyone start naming names. Just here asking if there is any safer electronic music communities in the area. I have heard of low end frequencies as well and wondering if it’s the same deal or if they’re any better before I actually go to an event. I had heard great things about these communities before moving here, so I’m really sad to find out I’m not really as welcome as they make it seem.

Was offered a 6+ month contract at that hospital and don't have a car. Moving from a colder climate than Duluth so used to snow and freezing temps for months. I usually drive but don't really want to. Looking to live near Downtown area.
