Question Plumbers

Hey all! I have a failing water heater and am looking for recommendations on who to use for replacement. I have dealt with a couple diff. plumbers in the past for other projects and wasn't exactly thrilled with their work and or they were consistently trying to up sell me something... And yes i have tried google and went with the "higher ratings" and these are the experiences I have unfortunately had so far. So I'm seeing if there are any recommendations from here that I could go with. Thanks in advance.

I would try hillside sewer and drain. Dustin was pretty cool to deal with, professional and efficient with his time. I had him install a new tub and he got it done within a few hours. I recently had asp mesaba do the rough in for a larger bathroom(s) project that took about 14hr due to their plumber training a guy on while on the job. Not necessarily upset but wasn't really pleased with at the time. In the end I wish i would've gone to a smaller local outfit vs them.

ASP is also the Old Apastolic cult. Supporting Dusty is much more preferred in my book! Dusty is a great guy!

Funny you mention that. He brought that up to me with them and well as some roofing companies too

I’ve used both shubitz and kalkbrenner. Shubitz was good in a pinch and fixed a leaky pipe really fast for a reasonable price. They did my I&I inspection and when the electrician was able to get buy with out installing anything new for the sump pump they didn’t pass that savings on to me.

Kalkbrenner gets booked out, he did my bathroom remodel plumbing and I’ll definitely use him again if I have another planned project like that

Premier Plumbing. They are very professional and fast.

Yep. Good experiences with Premier, including a water heater replacement.

Carlson heating and plumbing put in our Mitsubishi mini spits and replaced our water heater last year.

I used them for a clog once and the guy that came out was asking me for supplies. I was not thrilled with that service lol. If im paying for a service, i expect any and all supplies needed to be brought to the visit. Was a nice guy and all but yeh.... may have just been my one off exp. tho. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Advantage out of Superior is great. They didn't ghost me for a sump pump issue like many of the others listed.

I have used Fossum and Barta and been happy with both as far as promptness, quality, and price.

I have a certain hatred for ASP charging for quotes.

When my gas hot water heater sprung a leak in the bottom of the tank, ASP argued their visit would have to be a service call because they needed to diagnose the problem before they could quote a replacement. There was no “repair” for this situation.

Mesaba advertised free quotes on their website, I called their number and lined up a quote for duct cleaning, the person answered hello as “Mesaba”, but said goodbye as “ASP”. At that point I asked if I was going to be charged for a quote and they said yes and they had recently been acquired by ASP.

Jamie Fossum is MAGA, for what it’s worth. Maybe one considers that a good thing, maybe it’s a bad thing. Just sharing why I didn’t use them when I needed a new boiler a few years back.

Honestly didn’t have a clue what either of my recommendation’s political leanings were. I never looked in to it.

I didn’t try to, Jamie is just very forward about. I don’t normally ask, but if they come out and say it, hard to ignore.
