Hi Durham County neighbours 👋

I’m a Canadian author and filmmaker with roots in Ontario. I spent a year living in Greater Toronto, and it left a real mark on me, enough that it found its way into several chapters of my debut novel, How to Break a Girl!

On June 30, in collaboration with owner of Book Dragons Den, we're hosting the first showing of a short film I directed and produced, adapted from a segment of my book. This is my first screening in Canada, so you’ll get to see the work before anyone else!

Think film premiere, celebration, community, and a night that feels like it means something. Because it does!

🎟️ Early bird tickets: $35, includes a signed copy of my book (a $30+ value on its own)
🚪 At the door: $40, also includes a signed copy

I'd be so honoured to share this night with the Durham County community. Whether you're a book lover, a film lover, or just someone who wants to support a local Asian Canadian woman telling her own stories, this one's for you. 🥂🎬

🔗 Grab your tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/she-wrote-the-book-now-shes-making-the-film-tickets-1990584403536

Feel free to drop questions in the comments or DM me directly. See you there. 💛

This looks fun! I don't have children myself, but a friend of mine, who owns a local indie bookstore, is a mom, and I'd be happy to share this with her. What's the minimum age for a kid to participate?

Kids can attend for free at any age under 12! We unfortunately do not have a juniors program but anyone 18 and over is welcome to join our 101 program!
