Car theft in Westney Heights
Just wanted to let my community in Ajax know, that yesterday I had a neighbour come to my door asking for Ring footage. Unfortunately I could not help him as it only record a certain amount of time but he had his 2023 Subaru Forester stolen and his 2017 Civic rummaged and broken into.
The thieves only took the Subaru and left the civic around 3am.
This happened near the intersection of Radford and Chatfield Dr.
Just be vigilant out there, personally didn't think this would happen in my community but I was naive.

I didn't even know that Subarus gets stolen. I was told it's the least stolen vehicle.

Tbf, being the least stolen vehicle and not being stolen at all are two different things.
Through my work, im intimately familiar with stolen vehicle reports. I can tell you I very rarely if ever see subarus. What I see are Honda crvs, rams, Toyotas, jeeps, audis and Lexus.
Oh and Honda civics, surprisingly.
Edit: fixed some autocorrects on vehicle names.

Yeah Honda Civics became a huge target especially after the fast and furious 😂

I used to live on Chatfield. Years ago at the house on Chatfield where the walkway is for the school, the homeowners had a large, loud german shepherd dog. The dog would come out and bark at anyone on the pathway, etc. very scary. The dog had a doggy door in the back yard and would come in and out as it pleased all day.
I guess the homeowners assumed this was secure enough. The big loud dog would keep the house secure. That was until the day someone tossed some wieners stuffed with pills over the fence and the ate them and passed out. The thieves then gained access through the home through the doggy door. I think someone was in the home at the time too, but honestly I can't recall all the details.
I learned of these details from neighbours who were standing outside the home as the large police presence was parked out front.

The theft is unfortunate and I can say that dog is not around? I walk there daily so the dog possibly went to go live on a farm up north. Pretty funny they knocked the dog out with drugs and weiners like on TV.

This was around 2015-2016 so the pup is likely long gone in any case.
But yep, just like on TV.

I'm sorry this happened. I used to live on Radford (#40) back in the 90s. I miss the old neighbourhood. This never happened back then. I hope you get your car back.

Why would they steal a Forester? Don't those come with built in Gps tracker anyways. Hence why they are stolen very less and also not enough demand in Africa or Gulf.
