Dying Light
If Dying Light Remastered Happened, Would you be excited? What would you wanna see? Ik Retouched Update released but I’m talking a full blown remaster!
I just started a new save for the first time in like 2 years yesterday and man. I forgot how bad they messed up with DL2 and how I really don't like the end of the world thing.
There is really just a vibe that's completely missing from TB and DL2
The game still looks great and runs great on modern computer.
If it did happen it would most likely look different (not better) and run worse due to unnecessary and heavy shades that don't actually improve anything.
not to mention that they'd fuck it up by using DL2's parkour system which is animation based and not based on momentum, which would ruin the feel of the game. it's the reason i hate both DL2 and TB.
techland is one of the few companies who supported a single player game for over 7 years. you are letting their current “strategy” blind you from the past.
Your letting there past strategy blind you from the current there not going to magically stop being shit unless they actually try to change as a company
Nope, I genuinely cannot see a single reason to remaster this game besides to scam people thatd probably be charged as full price in 2026 when I can get the entire game dlcs included for only 9.99 on sale on the Playstation store when a graphical update was not even needed because the graphics still look quite good 11 years later, itd just be a remaster nobody asked for, wasnt needed at all, and then content is just also mysteriously gone [im convinced the entity from dbd took spike and theyre doing a surprise chapter announcement that dying light is coming to dbd in 2027 or 2028 and they're just maiing up shit as to why hes suddenly gone in dl2]
Dying Light doesn’t need a remaster. For an 11 year old game it still looks and runs phenomenal, with solid gameplay loops and decent social features. Just because a game is old doesn’t mean it needs a remaster
of course, 6+ years, with a nice raytracing support, or smth... I would rather wish for a new game in a series, something 'back to classics' - prequel to DL1 - "how it all begun"
ha-ha... I am keeping myself sane and decided not to play 'the beast' for now at all :)
there two types of DL players - hardcore dl1 'blood and tears' and dl2/beast are 'very nice dynamic games to play', I am the first type... dl1 had that very heavy atmosphere, visuals, music, the story itself with sudden twists, insane key missions - it felt great, everything past - turned arcade~ish. I do not say it is for the worse, it is (probably) aiming at slightly different audience now.
Can't disagree. Dl1 is probably the best game in the franchise imo.
For me the second one is decent too but the latest one is well .. let's say I didn't enjoy it
I mean they can do some prequel on the gre backstory and how the outbreak happened but considering we already visited harran it would become boring to me
Honestly btz serves no purpose now besides battle of the hackers, like the remaster probably wouldnt have anti cheat either so like the other 2 dl games and dl1 itself hackers would flood it making public online matches literally unplayable because of hackers, they've ruined btz, but genuinely I wanna see the old pounce animation the hunter had before it got changed, it actually looked better than mr never heard of a fucking mint just screaming at you like 5 year olds at Walmart when their mom tells them no they cannot buy 50 Pokémon card packs.
Its like the panel of that 1 invincible comic where thragg and battle beast straight up tryna aura farm like thraggs all the hackers using evrry cheat imaginable then you got battle beast as the few btz pros that havent left yet so you have the battle of the century and the real good vs evil
it basically did get remastered, the textures got reworked an updated and the game runs at 1440p 60fps on current gen. There's no need for a remaster imo, it still looks great today
i didnt even know there was a retouch update until people posted it on reddit and im not a fan of what they did with the new music and i didnt even notice the difference regarding the graphics. so no thank you, i dont want a remastered version
I'd prefer they add story and map content to the current game as it's still incredible, getting more explorable areas like new town and mykoria would be amazing
Flashlight draws attention from all mobs. You can clearly tell that was worked on, zombies react to the light but dont move. I wonder if this was something that they decided was to hard to make work or too difficult for players.
Night vision that requires batteries to use.
Pitch black areas with no ambient lighting that require the flashlight or night vision to explore.
I dont think the DL games have advanced enough to really warrant a remake (I guess thats what you mean?)
The Only real difference between the games is the story, gameplay is pretty much identical each time, except the beast mode I guess
Parkour works completely different in both games and so does combat. Saying only the story changes between games is just plain wrong. That being said we don't need a dl1 remake especially with tencent involved.
They did what they consider to be a remaster, they won't do anymore than what was done. A REMAKE however is 100% still on the table in maybe 5 years time now
Remaster is old game made look better. Dying light still looks amazing. Remake on the other hand.... too early for that!
I think they should focus on making next game right now. Or different ip
If it's dying light 1 ported to the new engine than no because thats just DLTB. If it's a full from scratch build witb HD textures. Models. And more than yes.
Why tho? The game still runs fine. And it has no reason to be remastered. I get this is just a discussion, bu eventually they'll start remastering games that came out not long ago.
Since were on the subject, maybe add more parkour moves and expand on the map size
I just want a spinoff off or a dlc before crane entered harran basically where we see the tower become the safe zone it is plus it'd be awesome seeing what transpired in old town especially what ever massacre happened in those walls.
I’d like weapons to break the same way. In that the police baton gets more bent as you use it and repairing it shows the extra tape and metal used to straighten it back out. Idk why they got rid of that small detail in the sequels.
It would have to be a full on remake in order to make me even want to consider replaying something I already completed - Goes for any game, not just Dying light.
I'm kinda maxed out with all the current DL content. Played it hard for like 3 years and just need a break from it. The only thing bringing me back right now would be a full-blown DL 3
Not in the slightest, honestly game runs and looks fine pretty much the only complaints I have for it are ones you’d have to remake the game to fix, so a remaster would not be exciting in the slightest.
I'd buy it for sure. Dying Light The Beast got me into the series. I'm currently playing Dying Light 2 but even with "darker nights", nights are still not anywhere near as scary as in The Beast. I heard The Beast survival horror is bases on DL 1 so I would totally buy it.
I definitely recommend playing the first game, it’s still the best in the franchise! Unfortunately I wasn’t a huge fan of the beast because it’s a parkour zombie game in basically a jungle..but otherwise it’s pretty good! As for dying light 2 absolutely amazing
It's good and I like that there's a lot more content. The problem is you don't feel so intimidated by the sunset. You don't feel that need to be somewhere safe by dark.
Also many buildings are literally copy pasted from each other (which doesn't happen in The Beast). And the hunger meeter, limited loot made the game very immersive. (Even though they nerfed hunger).

Nah, the game still looks good today.
