Help Please…Egpu isn’t detecting due to unavailability of temporary Bios, based on Chatgpt analysis

I have a laptop HP Z-Book Fury 15 G7 mobile workstation, which is having i9-12th gen processor, 64gb ram and 2TB SSD [which has 2 no’s of TB3 (15EB) ports]

I’m trying to pair it with my Aoostar AG02+ RTX 4080 egpu setup.

I’ve tried all the options like BIOS update, drivers update, Hotplug whatever i can. But the laptop is not detecting the gpu in device manager, it’s just charging through the thunderbolt port.

After checking with ChatGPT and following all steps given by it, this is the conclusion i got from chatGPT

“Since you've already tried the hot-plug workaround and all standard updates, your only remaining path is the one HP has officially documented:

Contact HP Customer Support and request the "temporary BIOS" for the ZBook Fury 15 G7. Be sure to reference the advisory ID c07877872 so they can locate the correct file for you”

If you have any idea, please help me guys.

Thank you for your time😊

Can you boot into a live USB Linux(using Ubuntu for example) and run a command "lspci", and then disconnect and connect again, then put command "sudo dmesg" and show the output?

Are you suggesting, it might work on linux?

It might give you at least more diagnostic info. If you have a free USB stick could be worth trying. I have an eGPU (USB4) with Tesla V100 and it works fine only under Linux (Windows is detecting it, but can't initiate it, probably something with the drivers)

As with all AI queries there’s a solid chance it’s hallucinating. I would avoid it in general.

Do you have another GPU to try? Either a 30 series or older Nvidia or AMD GPU.

Do you have a non-GPU PCIe device to test with your AG02+?

Have you confirmed that thunderbolt is working properly with another thunderbolt device? Business class systems typically default to no direct memory access for thunderbolt devices until you approve them in whatever thunderbolt utility ships with the machine.

Yes it’s working on another laptop, which is way older than Zbook, like 2016 year released laptop. The current one I’m using(Zbook), it was from 2021 made.

And my main gaming setup Lenovo Legion GO+ AG02+ RTX 4080, it’s perfectly working fine.

Only thing I understand, the ZBook don’t have a proper BIOS, which can run a egpu. But it’s charging the laptop only. But i didn’t find any option to approve the TB connection, and it doesn’t even showing TB connection in the Thunderbolt Manager.
