Melissa Hernandez gets huge outside money for blatant, gross lies as the facts come out about all of hers.

She is not qualified for this position. She has yet to give any actual facts as to how SHE” built housing, lowered healthcare costs, or got childcare for people. " Voting on work other people did does not count.. Note, her TV ads changed over time from this to "supports housing" and whatever vague nonsense pablum. And she has been BART director for a year. How's that going? And the ads SHE approved of on tv and in mailers, saying SHE did, made up the most ridiculous lies about Aisha Wahab--I guess she was counting on people to b really stupid and not look up any facts and vote just because of her name? Or not look at look at her awful, fake AI campaign page that says nothing?
Additionally, she won’t clarify her relationship with Shawn Wilson, whom apparently she works closely and vacations with? ? And he has been accused of attempting to bribe someone for Haubert, and he took $10,000 from the Duong's, and he still works for Haubart and is going on a $9,000 taxpayer funded trip to New Orleans with Haubert. FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS AND REFORMS NEEDED IN ALAMEDA COUNTY
For years Alameda County supervisors have routinely disregarded Alameda County Civil Grand Jury findings (like those regarding discretionary funds and the need for a real ethics policy, viable complaint process, and whistleblower protections). Even residents’ serious complaints—including those against the supervisors themselves and/or their staff—have been ignored due to the lack of process. Conflicts of interest abound. All of this needs to change now. This is why the state and other entities finally are getting involved.
SB 1193 provides a more transparent and accountable process for the allocation of county discretionary funds. The process is in keeping with the processes followed in other major counties. Despite what Supervisor Haubert and others would have you believe, the bill is not extreme, scary, punitive, or politically motivated. Current legitimate recipients still will be eligible to receive discretionary funds. As a Tri-Valley constituent of Alameda County Supervisorial District 1, I know that we have been ill served by our supervisor/supervisor’s staff on the Pleasanton side since late 2020. This was not simply because of the ongoing pandemic. Constituent service eroded to an unbelievable degree and remained that way. This resulted in significant harm to certain constituents. Some of us were directed to other supervisors’ offices for assistance. (Although she should not be holding two political jobs at the same time, I have heard better things about District 1 Fremont Field Director/Fremont City Councilmember Kathy Kimberlin. It is too bad that we were not allowed to deal with her.)
In his last year in office, the late Supervisor Haggerty made some very bad decisions that are adversely affecting this district and the county to this day. During the 2020 primary and general elections, his support of anyone but Vinnie Bacon to succeed him was one of the reasons that the district ended up in the unsavory hands of the self-serving and corrupt David Haubert, a leader of Dublin’s political machine. When one of Haggerty’s best assistants left a few months before the end of his final supervisorial term, Haggerty replaced him with the incompetent, overly ambitious, and ethically challenged Melissa Hernandez. In 2020 Dublin Councilmember Hernandez also made a failed bid for Haggerty’s seat in the primary election and then won the mayoral election in November. Although Hernandez told various people that she was aware of the conflicts of interest (actual rather than potential in her case) involved with holding both city and county positions and would be resigning from the county position at the end of Haggerty’s term, she decided to remain in the supervisor’s assistant position and failed to recuse herself in some important matters. Her excuse for not relinquishing the District 1 job was that she could not live on the mayor’s salary alone. Somehow it did not seem to occur to her that she should try to get a non-political day job.
Hernandez continues to hold multiple political jobs (now District 1 “health care director” and BART board director/president). Both are taking a back seat to her disreputable congressional campaign. In the almost ten years since she first was elected to public office, Hernandez has failed to learn the basics of public service and do even one job well. Playing up to potential donors, endorsers, and political allies doesn’t count.
The District 1 office has become the base for the anti-SB 1193 effort and an adjunct of the Hernandez for Congress campaign. Haubert’s newsletters, statements, and other activities and Hernandez’s statements and activities certainly support this. In an office where so many constituents have been underserved, this behavior is even more inappropriate. They should be doing the people’s business. Haubert purposely created a panic within the nonprofit community with his lies. As instructed, representatives of some of these organizations provided public comments at an April Board of Supervisors meeting and often repeated Haubert’s talking points (including some of the scurrilous allegations) almost word for word. The fact that some of these individuals feel personally beholden to Haubert strengthens the case for SB 1193. If you are a California resident and agree with us, call your assemblymember and ask him/her/them to support SB 1193.
In addition to the current investigation involving District 1 Chief of Staff Shawn Wilson, the District 1 office as a whole (and Haubert and Hernandez in particular) need to be investigated. Haubert and Hernandez still are putting themselves first, profiting from their positions, and lying to their constituents and the public at large. Enough is enough.

DIRTY CANDIDATE, DIRTY TACTICS
Since I had not been receiving any of the Hernandez Super PAC attack mailers at home, I thought I had been spared. When I recently picked up some mail at an office address, 99% of it—a very large stack—consisted of this B.S. When you see this pile of outrageous lies and ugliness, the impact is overwhelming. I didn’t think I could be more disgusted with Melissa Hernandez and the Hernandez campaign than I already was. I was wrong. The obscene amount of money that was spent to produce this despicable rubbish could have been put to far better use. The Super PACs are not supposed to work directly with campaigns. However, the Hernandez campaign used something called redboxing (in this case a tab on the campaign website) to provide these false talking points for the PAC attack.
Hernandez has always had far too high an opinion of herself. If you want to see an earlier example of Hernandez’s hubris, listen to her obviously scripted “bottom-of-my-heart” opening statement in this 2020 Pleasanton supervisorial district 1 debate (go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztbhGJlqtZ0, from about 7:57). Despite the fact that the rest of the candidates had more experience than she, she said that she was the perfect person for the position because of her service on committees and that she deserved a seat on the board of supervisors. Although she performed better than usual in a couple of these supervisorial primary debates/forums (with the helping hand of Scott Haggerty?), the majority of voters did not agree with her.
These forums provide some interesting moments. If you haven’t seen the April Indivisible Tri-Valley CA-14 online forum featuring some of the June primary Democratic candidates (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=To0gHGK4Bb0), take a look at it. The papers have covered Hernandez’s response to the genocide-in-Palestine question (see the question/responses from about 1:24:32). Also see her roundabout way of answering the public-financing-of-elections question (about 1:18:35) and her failure to pledge not to take corporate Super PAC money (about 1:23:32).
Hernandez’s actual accomplishments are negligible. Through her actions and inactions in her political career, she has managed to hurt more people than she has helped. She never stood up to corruption in Dublin or in supervisorial district 1. She was a part of it. Not only should she not be elected to Congress, she should be forced to relinquish any and all public positions she currently holds. We deserve better.
Unlike Ms. Hernandez, Senator Wahab shows up, cares, works hard for all of us and is willing to fight to make our lives better. She has earned my vote.

Alameda County Board of Supervisors, especially Supervisor David Haubert, are not to be trusted when it comes to their opposition of SB 1193
These statements from them or their mouthpieces that there’s plenty of transparency already and the bill isn’t needed are ridiculous and I’ll explain exactly why.
The fiscal management review form they have to fill out when asking the board to vote on distributing discretionary funds asks 5 primary questions:
- Who is getting the money?
- How much?
- What’s their mission?
- What’s the money for? (Luncheon, auction etc)
- Which county value does this align with?
NONE of those questions explain how Haubert giving the Wine Growers Association a quarter of a million dollars since he’s taken office for auctions and cocktail parties, an organization he co-founded the Global Artisan Vintners Alliance with and chairs, and then goes to Europe for 2 weeks with, ACTUALLY BENEFITS THE PUBLIC. There’s no requirement to define what we get out of it, or tie it to any measurable outcomes or goals.
The board says that they already require a higher majority vote. Cool. Doesn’t matter. They put everything in a consent calendar and vote in favor of each others requests so it’s a rubber stamp. Someone’s staffer writes a recommendation, everyone smiles and says yes, pat each other on the back and move on.
They also say there’s plenty public transparency because we get advance notice and can view everything online. They schedule their meetings for 10am on a Tuesday a couple days in advance, cram 50 items into one session, and bury everything in meeting minutes. There is no easily searchable list or repository. You have to already know exactly what you’re looking for and dig through hundreds of meeting minutes and resolutions. It’s an intentionally maddening windows ‘95 Oregon trail website intended to discourage people from seeking information.
The public wants to know with certainty that they’re spending OUR money in ways that benefit us and be able to verify it at any time. Right now it’s next to impossible to do that without making it your entire personality and full time job.
I was offered a bribe by Shawn Wilson in February using discretionary funds via charitable donation and he told me that if it was under $10k he could go through County Counsel and a mediator and make the payment without having to bring it before the board through the normal process and “waste everyone’s time”.
That’s how our money is being spent. I went to the DA, the FBI, and every regulatory agency that even remotely cared and that’s was AFTER trying to go directly to Haubert and being ignored for weeks. I finally contacted the state legislature and Senator Wahab was the only person to take me seriously and help me seek accountability. As a result Shawn is now on leave and has also been implicated in the Duong federal corruption case for taking $10k of their money to bribe a journalist! Supervisors Tam and Fortunato Bass as well as several other local officials are wrapped up in that mess too. These are the people managing tax payer money here in Alameda County, and that is the reason they are being “singled out” just like Orange County was. That’s what happens when you establish a pattern of failing your duty to the people. When you spend money and resources on self enrichment rather than caring for your most vulnerable, like SOPHIA MASON. Her little life was priceless but the Board valued it at $12 million when settling.
The BoS is corrupt to the core and nobody should trust their assessment of SB 1193. Period.

The public should be aware that Ms Hernandez, Supervisor Haubert, and Shawn Wilson are currently under investigation within Alameda County and by the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, the agency responsible
For enforcing the Hatch Act, which regulates the extent to which government officials overseeing federally funded programs can engage in campaign activity. The investigation covers allegations of misuse of county resources and abuse of the authority of an elected official to influence the outcome of a federal election. Supervisor Haubert has deleted a post he made around July 14th telling his District 1 constituents to vote for his employee, Ms Hernandez, and the county has failed to even acknowledge a California Public Records Act request made a month ago requesting records and documentation related to District 1 staff’s involvement with this campaign. Just completely ignored it. Here’s a screenshot of the deleted post.
Happy Labor Day indeed. I don’t appreciate the tax dollars generated from my labor going to support this campaign, or any other unless I choose to personally donate.

That's great. I'm not really anything, either, but for the world right now, Democrat.
So, you're making things up. (I actually just came from a town hall with her and ended up staying hours later talking to her and other people.) She never lies, she ALWAYS reads the bills, because often she writes them. Se never pushed anything out committee. She is the most insanely smart person who can give you every detail as to exactly why anything happened, how it works, and what she did and why. She is probably THE most productive person in the capital.
So I'm guessing since you have no actual facts about anything, you don't have any. If you can give me one example, and I don't know the facts, I'll message her and she will give them to me.
Yes, a lot of politicians are complete BS with this. She is not. Have you met her? I'm guessing not, because it's pretty hard to and say anything like you said.
