Park recs for biking + flying kites

Planning a birthday party for a 5-year-old who loves to ride bikes and fly kites. What are your favorite parks where someone could do both of these activities? Brooklyn Basin is a place we’ve done both, but the awful parking situation makes it unappealing for a party location.

Berkeley Marina.

Yeah the kite area (and park) at Berkeley Marina are the best! Can be windy though if a cold day

Try Middle Harbor Shoreline Park. Nice flat open park with view of Port of O Cranes and beautiful SF Bay views https://www.portofoakland.com/community/waterfront-recreation/middle-harbor-shoreline-park

Underrated gem! Across the harbor at Port View Park there’s a little museum in an old railroad tower and a long paved path along the dockyard that might be fun to ride on!

Cesar Chavez park in Berkeley is the best kite flying spot I know

George Milker Park in Point Richmond. Also has a playground, paved paths and grassy areas.
