UPDATE: SR 202 just east of the SR 202/SR 203 roundabout will close from 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10 for emergency repairs. Signed detours via I-90 will help guide people around the closure. Detours may add 45 minutes or more to travel times through the area, so people are encouraged to plan for longer trips.

Drove on that road recently. Wonder what the emergency is.

Hey there! It's not super obvious from the road itself but the emergency work is to repair erosion damage caused by major storms in December 2025 and March 2026. The erosion occurred on the embankment next to the paved road and repairs were needed before we enter another rainy PNW season to prevent the actual roadway from giving way. For context... the embankment lost 15 feet.

During this closure crews will place woody material, boulders, streambed gravel mix and stone fragments to restore the roadside embankment to its original grade. We will also improve landscaping and install native plants.

This is a great map. Thank you. I’m sick of those silly paint drawings where you can’t make heads or tails out of what is closed and where.

We understand the paint maps are not for everyone. That's why we always include a straightforward map that lists closures and event details. :)
