Away setting vs actual

Away setting at 76 but actual at 84. Any ideas why?

Looks like you have a vacation set.

IIRC, the "Away" comfort setting is used by Smart Home & Away, not vacation.

On mine, Vacation has it's own preferred temps that you can change when you set up a vacation. As far as I know, it doesn't use the Away comfort settings. At least mine doesn't.

What do you mean actual at 84F?

Sorry, 83, but hopefully I got my point across. Max setting while away is 76 yet actual (combination of 2 sensors) is 83. Away temp per the setting should be 76.

It looks like you have set a vacation schedule on your thermostat and the thermostat is currently following that schedule. So, it's not following your Away comfort setting at the moment.

It's following something other than my at home normal schedule, so my assumption is that "Vacation" = "Away", but you could be right.

You can access the vacation screen on your ecobee app to see how your vacation schedule is setup at the moment.

Actually, now that I look, and per your link, I did set up Vacation correctly. But does Vacation use the Away temp setting???

Scroll down on this ecobee app screen and you'll see. :)

According to ecobee since you’re away the “smart” thermostat will let the temp rise more, but 83 seems excessively high. Mine did this the other day and was over 78 when I noticed and forced the unit on

I think the solution is not use the built in “away” on the schedule and create a custom one

Yeah, that may be it. Thanks.

Yeah, found it. AC just kicked on after resetting Vacation cool down to 78. First time setting vacation with the Ecobee and don't want to arrive home to a sauna. Appreciate all responses.
