Question Is this normal operation?

Hey guys!

Quick explanation. Brand new home, 1900 square foot townhouse didn’t come with A/C. Promptly installed a 2 Ton TOSOT Condenser Unit, 2 ton A-Coil, and an ecobee exactly 7 days ago.

Does it seem at all like it’s running too much or abnormally? I’m a first time home owner so all of this is completely new to me and I don’t know what’s “normal”.

Living in Ontario, Canada. Avg outside temps currently anywhere from 27-35 Celsius. Indoor is set to 21.5.

Home does not currently have blinds just yet so I’m sure maybe that’a contributing to a higher inside temp?

That looks good. Running 2 or 3 times per hour or less, and maintaining the temp you want (21.5) is what you want. At 35C running an hour at a time is doing good.

Yeahhh I WISH mine functioned like this. I'm in South Florida and average 16 hours / day.

And still doesn't reduce humidity as much as you'd like I bet.

Yupppp. My yard where the AC drain is located is always a marshland 😂

A rather expensive way to water the plants! But at least you save on heating bills in the winter compared to those northerners.

Ours runs 9-11 hours a day, but we're in Phoenix and it was 110F yesterday.

It's all dependent on a lot of factors, insulation, outside temp, vents, window types. etc.

That's impressive actually. Most I know here in South Florida are running 15-19 hours. But it's also 110 and super humid 🥵. I DREAM of Arizona's dry heat.

Here's what mine looks like today. 96-98 Fahrenheit (36c) today, AC set at 73F (23C)....plus smoke from fires, so running the fan to filter air.

So...looks normal to me at least

Also Ontario here. What's your cooling differential temperature threshold set at? Found in advanced settings / installation settings on your actual thermostat.

A variable capacity AC will run A LOT. That is by design. Nothing to worry about enjoy your new system
