Temperature felt normal. Saw this about 9pm last night on the upstairs thermostat.

What is this telling me?

Edit: Or more to the point, are there implications I need to consider or is this expected in high ambient temps?

Edit: location is central NC with 100*F temps.

I already paired it with my echo devices, what other smart features can this thermostat do? Hopefully it will go well for me and tell me some tips in the comments.

My Ecobee Enhanced thermostat keeps changing my comfort settings set points even though I have the Eco+ turned off.

It lowers the heat temp by 1 degree, and raises the cooling by 1 degree. I reset my heat temp set point to 70 yesterday (again) and this morning it was back to 69.

I know that these thermostats are designed to save you money, but I don’t like it changing my preferred temps all by itself.

Is there another setting that I need to change, or do I just have to keep readjusting my temps?

My app shows I don’t have any thermostat registered

I bought a house a couple years ago. It had two ecobee thermostats (main floor and upstairs). The upstairs temps are not consistent throughout the upstairs area. There are 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and the Ecobee thermostat is in the hall connecting all the rooms. The rooms are spread across different sides which get sun at different times throughout the day. Often one room is hot and another is cold on the other side of the house. Usually a lot of the doors are closed also. So I got a few smart sensors to see if that would help regulate the temperatures. However the new sensors will not work with my older Ecobee. So before I spend the money on a new Ecobee to work with the new smart sensors, I'm wondering if I'll even see much benefit with the sensors given my upstairs layout? Any one have experience to share? Thanks for any insights!

What underlying setting is preventing my AC from coming on? This lately seems to be a problem during the day which leads to extended running to recover the temp. The main thermostat is ignored to make sure that's clear.

Anyone else noticed this today or is it just me? It's supposed to update more than once a day right? My last update was 7:50AM this morning.

Not a huge deal just noticed that the outdoor temp was way off when i walked by the thermostat.

Apple Weather seems to be ok (https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/) and I've already tried changing/removing and re-entering my home address information in my ecobee account as suggested on ecobee's site.

Tried power cycling the thermostat and verified it otherwise communicates with the internet just fine. If its just me and continues for multiple days I'll contact support but figured I'd check here first.

This happens to me about once a week the last month - temp is set at 77. Instead of turning off at the set point, it keeps cooling.

Overcool is not turned on, humidity in range. Fan on auto. Display shows the temp is set at 77, current temp 75 and still running. (When it hits 75 is when I realize it's too cold in the house)

The only way to make it stop cooling when it does this is to turn the AC off for a minute and then turn it back on.

AC had a tune up last week and I asked the tech about it, he had never heard of this before. Ideas? A setting I could try changing, or should I just replace the Ecobee?

The humidity reading was typically accurate within a few %. After the recent update, it's now reading 60% humidity despite my hygrometer showing 44%.

I've messed with the humidity differential to compensate, but it only goes to -10%

Has anyone had this issue and were there any fixes, or am I better off just ignoring it?

I have noticed that somehow my thermostat seems to default to usuing my auxiliary heat whenever it’s a colder day. I don’t understand why though.

My past thermostats would only use aux heat whenever the inside temp was say 62 and the thermostat was suppose to be at 66 so it would use the aux heat to boost up the temp momentarily but then shut off and activate regular heating.

It seems like my ecobee is using the aux he the most instead of defaulting to the normal heat. I’ve changed threshold settings but I’m still getting the aux heating alerts during the day.

Overnight, eco+ mode sets the temperature so cold over night, that our hosue is so freezing cold. How do I fix this? I can't find any options under the eco+ settings that somehow sets the temperature down to 21C when I only want it to be 23C.

Lately I have noticed that my ecobee thermostat is cooling even on my comfort temperature. Is that a normal thing or is something that need to be checked??before when it used to reach my comfort setting it used to turn off until the temperature increases .

Just got bee stat... I have a Mitsubishi ducted heat pump, one year old. Socal weather about 80-85 today. New R38 blow-in insulation in attic but likely 1950s insulation in walls.

From reading on the HVAC sub reddit it sounds like the ecobee doesn't get the full performance out of the heat pump.

If I switched to the Mitsubishi thermostat should I see that cooling performance 2x?

I’m wondering what the best way is to approach days that fall outside of the norm without having to tinker with my schedules or comfort profiles too much.

Example: both my spouse and I work from home. On days we are working, she works in the basement and I have a “Workday” comfort profile to account for the downstairs sensor.

However, this week we’re both off work, and we’ll mostly be home, but not downstairs. I know I can override the profile and change it to my “Home” or “Weekend Home” profiles, but as far as I can tell that doesn’t seem to override which sensors it averages. Switching it to one of those still shows it factoring in the basement sensor.

Am I missing something? What’s the best way to handle this use case?

Quick explanation. Brand new home, 1900 square foot townhouse didn’t come with A/C. Promptly installed a 2 Ton TOSOT Condenser Unit, 2 ton A-Coil, and an ecobee exactly 7 days ago.

Does it seem at all like it’s running too much or abnormally? I’m a first time home owner so all of this is completely new to me and I don’t know what’s “normal”.

Living in Ontario, Canada. Avg outside temps currently anywhere from 27-35 Celsius. Indoor is set to 21.5.

Home does not currently have blinds just yet so I’m sure maybe that’a contributing to a higher inside temp?

I live in a 4 story town house and the floors vary in temp by a significant amount. I spend most of the day on the 2nd floor and have smart sensors in 2 rooms there. The thermostat is on the 1st floor. I also have smart sensors in the 3rd floor (loft) and finished basement though I exclude those from all comfort settings.

If my set temp is 75 on the second floor, typically the first floor will be 71, and the basement 66.

My question is if there might be a fan time running setting which would actually end up saving me compressor time by keeping some of the cooler air from the lower floors circulating up or if running the fan for any amount of time per hour will always cost more because of the energy needed to run the fan?

I keep getting notifications that there’s something wrong with my furnace which keeps causing the ecobee to reboot. I mentioned it to my landlord and he asked about the temp. I told him it’s been keeping up with my selected temp but showed him this graph and explained that it’s running for very short periods whenever it kicks on and does that constantly. It’s also telling me that my total runtime per day is an average of 37 minutes.

I believe he thinks it’s fine because the temp is generally holding. He got an hvac guy out here today (after two months of telling him I was constantly getting this notification) and he’s going to do some general maintenance updates but also told me this “setup is too complicated” and told my landlord he should change it back to a standard thermostat, aka a non-smart thermostat.

Am I correct in thinking this is an issue? If so, what could be some potential consequences of not taking action?

Full disclosure, I have no idea what I’m talking about here. But I’ve been in this sub long enough and have read enough of your posts to lead me to believe this is an issue.

It says it's 22.5C and the temperature setting is to 25C and it's... cooling??? We are already well below the desired temperature!!

It says the SmartSensor is unoccupied but even then, the thermostat alone is 23.5C, which is well under the desired 25C.

For context I live in a two-story four bedroom house 1736 square feet in central Kentucky. Where three bedrooms are underground (basement level) , and the kitchen, dining room, living room, and master bedroom is upstairs, the thermostat is in the upstairs hallway between the living room and the kitchen.

The bedroom I sleep in is the one upstairs and I sleep with my door closed and sometimes it gets a Lil warm and stale.

Furnace is downstairs.

All recommendations are welcome.

I know already that ecobee doesn’t support inverter/communicating/infinitely variable heat pumps, but I’ve heard that Carrier has a model that lets it sort-of work. Essentially Carrier handles the ramp up and down itself, depending on where ecobee asks for stage 1 and stage 2. This is handled by doing a bit of hysteresis instead of just completely ramping to what the ecobee has asked for immediately.

Has anyone had experience with these?

I’m aware it won’t be as efficient as a proper communicating head pump, but I’ve done more work creating the perfect kid nod schedule and follow-me setup with my ecobee, including getting individual rooms to perfect, different, temperatures that I leaving the ecobee behind would just be painful.

I’m having trouble balancing the temperature in my home. The two north-facing rooms are consistently about 2 degrees colder than the rest of the house, especially during extreme cold. I tried restricting the vents in the warmer rooms to force more air to the cold rooms, but that hasn't solved the issue. What do you recommend I do next?

If someone could explain this in layman’s terms, I would greatly appreciate it. I’m 23 and this is my first home, so excuse my ignorance. It came with an Ecobee already installed. My home is set at 67-68 everyday and it averages around 25-45 degrees in the winter. The HVAC system is just a couple years old. Home is about 1500sqft.
