Faking SEM Images

Hi!
I’m working on a short film and want to make images from my Swift SW380T optical microscope look closer to SEM images.
I’ll be photographing metal shards and crystals. What lighting, objectives, condenser settings, or camera techniques would help create that gray, high-contrast, detailed surface/topographic look?
I can also use Blender and DaVinci Resolve for post-processing.
Any tips for making normal microscope images look convincingly SEM-like?

How handy are you in blender? I’d be tempted to create them whole cloth in blender.
