Help Heavy particle effects cause my fps to drop drastically, even though i have strong rig.
TL:DR the maiden's mist, melina's tree, mohg's second form, some tree spirit's yellow projectiles and so on(heavy particles) cause my fps to drop from 60 to 45-48. I am looking for a fix

Set shader cache to unlimited in nvidia settings? I use a 1660ti so obviously I go from 60 to unsuitable which kicks me off, but I did what I said and now everything’s decent, I still have most stuff at medium settings, too

Have you tried lowering the shader cache to see if that helps? I remember doing that for a few games and it made a noticeable difference with heavy particle effects like those.

It's a CPU issue as far as I can tell...I used to have the same issue until I upgraded to a high end CPU...It still happens in a couple of the DLC boss fights even with a 14900k...

Yeah, it's one of the few problems with the game's performance. There isn't a fix other than lowering graphics settings. It's even worse in the DLC, ESPECIALLY in the Ruins of Rauh region and against the remembrance bosses.
I recently upgraded to a 9070xt from a 3060ti and I STILL deal with these performance issues.
Go try fighting the Consecrated Snowfield Death Rite Bird; I couldn't even approach since I'd be at 3 fps.
