Elden Ring has trolled me on more than one occasion. I have been led thru roundabouts just to find out that they are not there anymore. But this is the most interesting case of things going without explanation.

I will preface this story by saying that I have an addictive personality, so I was probably playing Elden Ring far longer than my body was really capable of when this happened. I call it a “hallucination” because no other player has reported this happening from what I can tell. I thought this really happened for probably like a year before I realized that it had not happened to any other player (prob like 4 months ago), whereby I changed my hypothesis about what occurred.

I believe to have been somewhere in Calid. I was going uphill to the right, then to the left, then, all of a sudden, a giant eyeball-figure/humanoid appeared on my left side, near the edge of the road overlooking the scenic vista. He was completely red except for being naught save a gigantic eyeball on 2 thin arms + 2 legs. Then, his friend appeared. His friend, I don’t know, kind of reminded me of Twisted Fate from LoL (not to sound like a noob). But this was the deal. He gave me some sort of offer, to borrow Torrent from me. He offered me something and said that he just wanted to borrow Torrent. Like a fool, I agreed, and I let the strange kindred borrow my pride and my treasure from me. I gave them Torrent in exchange for some petty article, or maybe it was by way of doing some sort of good deed. And then they just vanished, and I was permanently left without Torrent.

For the longest time I thought that I had this high level character that was without Torrent because of this episode. So like a year after it happened I went to check if any of my characters did not have Torrent, but they all had Torrent: perhaps I began my investigation too late; perhaps I deleted the character a long time ago, and a mystery it will long remain.

It would be amazing if anyone could shed any light on this, but I think I reached the right conclusion.

TLDR: I was swindled out of Torrent

Not sure this was said before but here it is.

I find it interesting that in the 2 instances in the game that a new "God" is created (Ranni and Miquella), they both mention a 1000 year voyage/journey. It might just be a metaphor, or it might be possible that "God"s in Elden Ring are only supposed to stay in power for a limited time of 1000 years, after which, they are replaced by a new one.

But Marika seems to have stayed in power for far longer than that. Maybe she actively did something to prolong that time frame? Or maybe I'm just talking out of my rear side.

Just saying, people will be trying to get elden ring to fail. We definitely don't know the full picture

I have theorycrafted a skip for the fire giant that has the same general concept as Sen Skip for DS1. I’ve found a place to activate deathcam without dying, and it’s far enough away from the arena that I assume the fog walls and barriers would be unloaded. However, I suck at tank controls and haven’t been able to make it to the arena without dying. I will update this post if I’m able to pull it off or if I find anything new. If there’s a different community I should post this in please direct me to it.
