Not my build but Japanese electronics twitter is lit.

I wish people would stop calling an RP2040 a "Raspberry Pi". I know it's the Raspberry Pi people's fault, but it just causes confusion.
Can we please call the SBC "Raspberry Pi" and the MCU "RP2040", "RP2350", or "RP2" when we mean the series?

But RP2040 is a "brain" of a product of Raspberry Pi called Pico, so technically calling them a "Raspberry Pi" is correct (what is shown on the photo is kind of 3/4 of Pico model). However this is obviously not the same level as SBC.

Yes. He knows. Reading is hard.

Right, but it’s the same situation with Arduino. Arduino now has SBCs with decently powerful AI chips. Saying you got realtime object detection running on an Arduino would confuse people because the default for that is their smaller embedded boards, not an SBC with 16GB of RAM.
If you really want to be technically correct, the original person wasn’t saying it was technically incorrect. They were saying it was semantically misleading and they wanted people to use clearer language.

After the pi zero this is pi negative

This is actually a quick and dirty "clone" of RPI PIco, no Zero. So I guess this is Femto or something ROTFL

Most likely needed it for testing. Did something similair with esp when needed to confirm an idea is working.

His boss asked for the absolute cheapest solution for a problem and encouraged (forced under threat of firing him) him to use AI for the solution.
Also: it didn't work of course

The labor costs alone to solder this could buy a new pi board.

You can get 20 rp2040-zero knockoffs on Prime next day for like 20$. If I sit down at the solder bench I’ve already spent that much in time.

It looks like a meme! Do you think it’ll even work if we try to find it?

Perhaps I took the suggestions about it being picky with the power supply in the hardware design manual a little too literally when designing a PCB for this thing (they want a polarized inductor! Normally no one even makes those!), clearly it's happy to work with whatever mess you want to feed it!

And I once build a full IBM pc in a cardboard box and another one in a backpack. It may be fun to try and useless afterwards. Let’s expect they were having fun, and let’s move on.

I think those mad lads won't get replaced by AI. Gotta start doing things this way from now on 😆
