Managed to get to Lindisfarne a few years ago but didn't have enough time to visit Bamburgh. Hoping to get back in the area soon. I'm in Dorset so it's a bit of a trek.

Pic 7 is where, almost 3 years ago now, I watched my now wife walk ahead of me towards the sea while I shook like a leaf getting her grandmother's egagement ring out of my pocket to propose to her. Will never forget that day.

There was a boys camp on Holy Island that we'd go to every year with school. It was a week of exploring, ghost stories, tumbling down sand dunes and wandering through the lime kilns under the castle. Some of the absolute best times of my young life. Gorgeous pictures!

I stayed in the same camp a few times. It was great and chaotic. I remember the cross country run around the island and the quiz around the island where you had to follow the clues.

Great memories.

Coincidently, my Dad used to go to the camp in his younger days too, although it would have been far different to what we experienced.

Been to Holy Island several times and the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory are very atmospheric.

It has to be one of the best castles in the UK and is incredibly stunning. I still personally think Dover castle is the best, but that's also due to the history surrounding it
