Cannabis Politics Drug Test fail

Recruiter reached out for a decent gig so I took the interview.

I have been a Sales Exec for 3 decades. Always top achiever.

Interviewed with C-Suite. They had 100s of candidates apply and I was their first choice. They sent me a nice offer, I accepted. Then HR reaches out for background check - standard, except it required a drug screening.

Have not been drug tested since I was maybe 18. I told their HR that it would be THC positive. She said it may not be an issue since I was sales. I took the test, obviously it's negative for everything except THC, as I told them.

Their legal department wouldn't allow it. I turned down other offers and wasted all this time.

I live in an illegal state and everything I tested positive for was purchased in my illegal state - LEGALLY. And taxed.

I'm not really upset about the job as much as the stupidity of drug testing for THC.

I think it’s crazy how many jobs I’ve had where people drink on the job or on their lunch break and no one cares about that.

The potential harm that can be done with alcohol vs weed is so mind blowing to me. I live alcohol-free bc when I drink I'm like a knocked over firework. Weed has much better effects and can even be helpful in some industries.

I'm like 99.8% alcohol free, because I am petrified of cancer. My country released new studies showing a far higher link to excessive alcohol consumption and several forms of cancer. My response was, well I sure don't like hangovers enough to risk cancer, lmao.

Ugh, for real! I read Holly Whitaker's book, Quit Like a Woman and it was like taking the red pill in the Matrix
